Former Aledo and TCU quarterback Hauss Hejny announced Thursday that he is leaving Oklahoma State and entering the transfer portal again.
Hejny won the starting job for the Cowboys, but he broke a bone in his left foot in the season opener against UT Martin and didn’t play again. He led Oklahoma State to touchdowns on its first two drives before suffering the injury.
He will have four years of eligibility remaining. On social media, he thanked former Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy, who was fired during the season, and other assistant coaches. Oklahoma State finished 1-11 (0-9 in the Big 12).
“Stillwater [Oklahoma] is a special place, and I want to take the time to let the fans and the community know how grateful I am for their support,” Hejny posted. “I am deeply thankful for my teammates and the lasting friendships that were formed during my time here. I am excited to explore new opportunities and continue to compete at the highest level.”
Eric Morris is the new head coach at Oklahoma State after nearly leading North Texas to the College Football Playoff in a 12-2 season. Quarterback Drew Mestemaker, who had a breakout season with the Mean Green with 4,379 passing yards and 34 touchdowns, is reportedly following Morris to Stillwater.
Hejny played in four games for TCU the previous season after being a three-star recruit at Aledo, then entered the transfer portal.
As a high school senior, Hejny led the Bearcats to the Class 5A Division I state championship in 2023 and was the Star-Telegram’s Offensive Player of the Year.
