Feeling like fall this week across New England

[ad_1]

The week begins with a quiet stretch of weather as high pressure settles in, keeping things dry and comfortable through Monday and Tuesday.

Plenty of sunshine to start the new week. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s away from the coast, while eastern Massachusetts stays a bit cooler in the low 70s with an onshore breeze. Nights will be mild and seasonable with lows in the 50s, making for a classic mid September feel.

By midweek, an offshore system brushes close to New England and could bring a few showers to coastal areas Wednesday night into Thursday. Most of the region stays dry, but the South Coast, Cape, and Islands have the best chance of seeing some rainfall.

Temperatures stay on the warmer side, in the upper 70s to near 80 in some inland spots before a cold front swings in on Friday. That front ushers in a cooler and more autumn like air mass for the weekend, with highs in the 60s and 70s and crisp nights dipping into the 40s and 50s.
