Kash Patel is getting major backlash.
The 45-year-old FBI director has gotten criticism for assigning SWAT team members to act as security for his 27-year-old country singer girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins.

MS NOW reports that there is a taxpayer-funded FBI security detail in place, made up of agents typically assigned to the FBI field office in Nashville, Tenn.
The assignment is now reportedly causing concern that it could delay those law enforcement officers from responding to other incidents and that the response team won’t be fully staffed, per the report.
Sources familiar with FBI security protocols said they “were unaware of any instance in which the girlfriends of top FBI officials received government-staffed security details.”
Former FBI Director Christopher Wray’s wife Helen got security protection when she traveled with him, and they shared a home in Atlanta.
Kash and Alexis do not have a shared home.
“Ms. Wilkins is receiving a protective detail because she has faced hundreds of credible death threats related to her relationship with Director Patel, whom she has been dating for three years. Out of respect for her safety, we will not be providing additional details,” the FBI said in a statement, via the outlet.
The two first met in Nashville, and have been dating since 2023.
“There is no legitimate justification for this. This is a clear abuse of position and misuse of government resources,” former senior FBI Agent Christopher O’Leary and current MS NOW contributor said.
