Fairfax Police arrest suspect for Washington & Old Dominion Trail assaults, other incidents

Fairfax County police seek more information after arresting Koby Berry, linked to assaults and incidents on the Washington & Old Dominion Trail in Reston.

RESTON, Va. — Fairfax County police are looking for more information after arresting a man who they’ve linked to assaults and other incidents around the Washington & Old Dominion Trail in Reston.

Police initially arrested 27-year-old Koby Berry of Reston after responding to a location on the Washington & Old Dominion Trail near Hunter Mill Road. According to police, a suspect tried to strike a man on the trail and then took a woman’s phone. Police found Berry on the trail and took him into custody, charging him with two counts of simple assault and larceny. He was taken in and released.

Two days later, Berry was arrested again after officers linked him to an incident at a store in the 1400 block of North Point Village Center in Reston.

According to police, they used surveillance video from the store to identify Berry as a suspect who touched a victim inappropriately in the store. After obtaining a warrant for simple assault, police arrested Berry on Nov. 15.

According to police, Berry is the suspect in at least two other incidents in the area.

On Oct. 30, Berry jumped in front of a woman riding a bicycle on the trail and tackled her before running away. Then, on Nov. 1, Berry entered a hotel room in the 12100 block of Sunset Hill Road in Reston. After telling the people in the room that he was a security person looking for someone who defecated on the sidewalk, he exposed himself and then left.

In connection with the Oct. 30 and Nov. 1 incidents, Berry was charged with indecent exposure, assault, and trespassing.

He is currently jailed without bond.
