Eurovision Legend Lena Returns With Dark Pop Gem ‘Straightjacket’ – Culture Fix

[ad_1]

Eurovision fans will fondly remember Satellite performer Lena who claimed victory for Germany in 2010, later returning with the even more impressive Taken By a Stranger in 2011. Lena has continued to have a high profile career in Central Europe with a plethora of hit albums and singles under her belt in Germany and Austria. She returns with a new era with two new numbers, the freshly dropped Straightjacket and previous gem What I Want.

On Straightjacket, Lena sings: “The way you touch, the way you love / They’d have to bury me before I’d ever give you up / Poisoned air, I’ll breathe you in / A straitjacket couldn’t keep my hands off your skin…” The cut sees Lena delve into true contemporary pop sounds, with this taking a dark-tone delving into overriding feelings of compelling love. The number is written by Hailey Collier, Lena, Nikolay Mohr and Sophia Brenan. Nikolay contributes the high-energy, brooding production.

The new numbers are likely to feature on Lena’s as yet unannounced new album. Her most recent full LP was Only Love, L in 2019, she has since released EP trio Optimistic, Kind and Confident in 2021.
