Europol Dismantles International Cocaine Smuggling Network to Iceland | Cannabis Law Report

Europol reported the discovery of an international network involved in smuggling cocaine from South American countries to Iceland.

According to Ukrinform, the information was published on Europol’s official website.

Timeline of the operation and its consequences

According to investigators, profits from illegal trafficking reached about 4 million euros.

As part of the special operation earlier this month, 24 people were detained: 11 in Iceland, 6 in Lithuania, 4 in Spain, 2 in Belgium, and 1 in Denmark.

The group members coordinated the movement of cocaine from South American countries to Iceland via Spain and other destinations, after which the drug was distributed locally.
