Our favorite dark pop princess has done it again! Just in time for the holidays, Ellise has gifted us with a wicked new single and a gorgeous visualizer. Earlier this month, she released her newest stunner, ‘Did It Hurt?’, which quickly became our new obsession. In true Ellise fashion, it’s the perfect mix of haunting and airy; her angsty lyrics mixed with her gorgeous tone have always been able to captivate her fans. We’re sure ‘Did It Hurt?’ will be able to captivate you, too.

Don’t believe us? See for yourself. The visualizer, created by her and Cark Heller, is such a beautiful compliment to the track that we couldn’t help but watch it over and over! Now, we dare you to watch it and not immediately fall in love. Starting with Ellise in a room of white and slightly out of focus, we see the symbolism from the beginning. Light, pure, and hopeful, feelings typically represented by the color white, seem to be fading quickly before bursting into flames.

The remainder of the visualizer features Ellise surrounded by flames, covered by smoke, or bathing in a tub masked in hues of purple and blue. ‘Did It Hurt?’ is a song about allowing yourself to completely surrender to the pain that can come with love, giving yourself to someone, and losing them. Ellise captured all of these emotions effortlessly!

‘Did It Hurt?’ is so incredible; even Jimmy Fallon is a fan (or he would be)! You can stream it now on Spotify.
