East Palo Alto middle school employee arrested for lewd acts with minor

(KRON) — An employee at an East Palo Alto middle school was arrested on Monday after allegedly engaging in lewd acts with a minor, the East Palo Alto Police Department said. Police received an allegation on Sept. 6 that the suspect, 54-year-old James Edward Fitch of Stockton, had engaged in lewd acts at his place of employment, Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School.
Fitch served as the campus relations coordinator at the school.

East Palo Alto PD launched an investigation and developed probable cause to arrest Fitch for three felony counts of lewd acts with a minor and one felony count of enticing a minor for lewd acts.
On Monday, East Palo Alto PD along with the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Team served a $500,000 arrest warrant and search warrant for Fitch at his residence. The suspect will be booked into San Mateo County Jail.
East Palo Alto police are now searching for more potential victims. As a long-time employee of the school, Fitch had access to hundreds of children.
