East Longmeadow senior community unveils renovations

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – An independent senior living community in East Longmeadow is celebrating its fresh new look.

Bluebird Estates invited the public to tour its recently completed renovation project.

It was in efforts to create enhanced communal spaces for their residents, including an improved dining room, fitness room, and multi-purpose spaces. 22News spoke with John Freeley, the general manager, who says with will help older adults live life to the fullest while staying at the facility.

“It really makes it more comfortable,” said Freeley. “If you really care about your residents, re-investing and updating is something that I think is important and I am really proud to be a part of.”

According to one national study, social engagement, access to fitness and other amenities are beneficial for the health of senior citizens.
