HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Early voting kicks off Monday across Texas for the November election, and voters will see a range of races on their ballots.

Congressional, City Council, and school board seats are among the races that may be on your ballot.

One of the most closely watched races is the special election for the 18th Congressional District. Rep. Sylvester Turner died in March, leaving the seat vacant for the past seven months. Polling from the University of Houston’s School of Public Affairs suggests the race is likely to end with a run-off.

Voters will also decide a special election for Houston City Council’s At-Large Position 4, which opened after Letitia Plummer resigned to run for Harris County Judge.

Several local school districts, including Houston ISD, will elect new trustees, and cities such as Baytown and Bellaire are also holding elections for local offices.

Before heading to the polls, voters can verify their registration status on the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
