Driver of car involved in TriMet bus crash in Northeast Portland left with minor injuries

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Crews are on the scene of a head-on crash between a car and a TriMet bus in Northeast Portland’s Montavilla Neighborhood, authorities said.

The crash happened near East Burnside Street and Northeast 79th Avenue on Thursday evening.

The occupant of the sedan was sent to the hospital with minor injuries after requiring “heavy extrication,” Portland Fire and Rescue said.

“Three were transported off the bus under precautionary reasons,” PF&R said in a post on X.

KOIN 6 News is working to learn more about what may have caused the crash.
