CLEVELAND (WJW) — A 20-year-old man admitted to drinking before causing a crash that killed a 51-year-old bicyclist on Tuesday, Sept. 16, according to police.

Kamarion T. Jordan, 20, of Cleveland, is now charged in Cleveland Municipal Court with one first-degree felony count of aggravated vehicular homicide, records show.

A probable cause affidavit obtained by the FOX 8 I-Team alleges Jordan was speeding west on Kinsman Road just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, traveling faster than the 35 mph speed limit.

He then struck a bicycle carrying 51-year-old Yvonne Kemp as it was traveling south on East 128th Street and turning onto Kinsman Road, according to the affidavit.

Kemp was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jordan showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test and admitted to drinking alcohol before the crash, according to the affidavit.

His blood alcohol content was tested at 0.074%. That’s more than three times the legal limit for a person younger than 21 in Ohio, which is 0.02%. The legal limit for adults 21 and older is 0.08%.

A judge on Wednesday, Sept. 17, set Jordan’s bond at $25,000. He’s due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 26.
