ARVADA, Colo. (KDVR) — A memorial motorcycle ride with dozens of riders honored a late Colorado firefighter on Saturday in Arvada.

Arvada Fire is mourning the loss of 34-year-old Kyle Trombly, who died in an off-duty crash in August. He had been with Arvada Fire since 2011 and was an active member of the Arvada Fire Honor Guard and EMS-Fire and Safety Team at the Bandimere Speedway.

“Kyle was truly a brother to us and my crew. Amazing person always had a big smile on his face, hard-working individual,” said Captain Derrick Varela of Arvada Fire. “He’s definitely looking down on us today.”

On Saturday, dozens of motorcycle riders gathered in Arvada, with red ribbons on their bikes. Trombly’s best friend led the memorial ride while driving his first motorcycle.

“He would call up and say what do you guys need help with, he was always there. You could always count on Kyle,” said Captain Michael Kulb of Arvada Fire.

Arvada Fire said it will build a physical memorial for Trombly at Station 1.
