WASHINGTON — The Powerball jackpot has now climbed to $1.6 billion dollars after nobody won the top prize in Saturday’s drawing.
While no one won Saturday’s jackpot, there were eight tickets nationwide that each won $1 million.
Tickets in California, Florida, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Ohio won $1 million by correctly matching all five white ball numbers.
Saturday’s drawing also produced 112 tickets that won $50,000 prizes and 22 tickets that won $150,000 prizes.
The current jackpot has been rolling since Sept. 6, when two winners beat odds of 1 in 292.2 million.
If someone wins Monday night’s drawing, the cash value totals $735.3 million.
The current jackpot is now the fourth largest in the game’s history, with the next drawing on Monday, Dec. 22.
This year has produced three major Powerball wins: the $1.8 billion September prize, a $526.5 million jackpot claimed in California in March and a $328.5 million prize won in Oregon in January.
