Quick facts:

  • Increasing clouds and windy on Sunday
  • Storms chances return Sunday night into Monday, low severe threat
  • Cooler by Tuesday

Sunday

While most of the day will be dry, it will be a much different day than Saturday. Clouds will return and winds will really increase bringing moisture and humid air back into North Texas. A wind advisory goes into effect from 7AM – 7PM Sunday.

Winds could gust higher than 40 mph across most of North Texas during the day with some gusts of 50+ mph possible in western areas. Make sure to secure any loose outdoor items!

Storm chances return

Most of Sunday will be dry, but can’t rule out a passing shower here or there during the afternoon into the evening. Better storm chances will be late Sunday night as a round of storms sweeps from west to east across the area. For DFW, timing looks to be around midnight or after.

Storms will initially form across far western North Texas during the evening and then move across the rest of the area.

While a few storms with hail up to quarter size and strong wind gusts are possible, the overall severe threat is low and mainly for areas west of DFW.

Storms will move into eastern North Texas by Monday morning with most of North Texas drying out quickly first thing on Monday.
