Warmer weather is on tap as more cloud cover moves in over the weekend.

DALLAS — It was a cool start to the week, but temps are now warming quickly as we head into Easter Weekend. Here are the latest forecast updates for this week.

Quick facts:

  • 80-degree temps return Easter Weekend
  • Breezy weekend
  • Next chance for severe storms is Monday

Easter Weekend

Temps will quickly warm through Easter Weekend across North Texas. 70s will be around late week with 80s in the forecast for the weekend.

Overall, Easter Weekend is looking dry, warm and breezy. We’ll see a few clouds Friday, partly cloudy skies Saturday and a mostly cloudy sky Sunday.

Monday Storms

Our next chance for severe weather in North Texas will be Monday night. At this time, a level 2 slight risk is in place for the area. The main concern is the potential for strong storms producing large hail and strong winds. The higher threat is north of the Red River. We’re keeping an eye on it!  We will have more detailed timing and risk info as we get into the weekend.

Cooler air soon

Yes it will be much warmer this weekend, but behind the cold front and system that bring us the chance for strong or severe thunderstorms Monday will be much cooler air. Highs will fall back into the 60s which is a bit cooler than normal for this time of the year.

14-day forecast

After that previously mentioned next best chance for rain on Monday and Monday night, another chance for rain will come in the end of the weekend and into the following week. So… that means for the Solar Eclipse, which is less than two weeks away, the forecast could feature some rain. We’ll keep you posted!
