Here’s a look at the forecast this week!

Quick Facts:

  • Temperatures drop this weekend
  • Rain chances go up, too
  • Things will finally feel a little more February-like around here.. but briefly

Upcoming rain chances

Showers, and a few storms, are likely Saturday. Those chances will be best in the morning and early afternoon with lower rain coverage in the evening. So, it’s not going to rain all hours of the day.

The next round of rain is expected to move in overnight Saturday and into the morning on Sunday. The best chances for precipitation once again look to be in the morning, but lingering rain is possible into the afternoon and evening.

The severe weather risk both days is expected to stay low and south of the metroplex with a risk for up to quarter size hail. And snow? There will be some, but mainly to the northwest of our area. It will be too warm for impactful accumulations.

Rain Totals

El Niño years increase our chances for a wetter-than-normal winter, and this winter continues to show us just that.

The rain is coming this weekend falls in line with the totals expected for this time of the year. Already, our area rain total for the winter is around 1.50″ above normal.

14-Day Forecast

As we said, temps are back closer to normal heading through the middle part of February. Valentine’s Day looks dry and slightly above normal.

A return to below-normal temps is possible after Valentine’s Day along with rain chances returning as well.
