SACRAMENTO, Calif. — One person is dead and another is hurt following a head-on crash at Highway 88 and Aqueduct Grove Road in Pine Grove, according to the Amador Fire Protection District.
Just after 7 p.m. Monday, fire crews responded to the scene. An Amador Fire Battalion Chief says when crews responded, they found two vehicles involved in the crash, both sustaining major damage. Crews had to extricate two people. One patient was transported to a nearby hospital, while the other died at the scene.
Officials say there is a hard closure on Highway 88, and there is no estimated time for reopening.
