Deadly crash blocking SacRT light rail tracks in Folsom, officials say

A deadly crash is impacting light rail service in Folsom on Thursday afternoon, according to the police department and Sacramento Regional Transit.SacRT said a vehicle struck the ramp at Iron Point Station and overturned onto the tracks. The agency said the crash was blocking the tracks between the Sunrise and Historic Folsom stations, though SacRT was not involved in the collision. Folsom police said at least one person was killed in the crash, and one other person was taken to a hospital. The police department also said the crash involved a pedestrian. Once the crash is cleared, SacRT said its crews would inspect the tracks for damage before service is resumed.
