Day Care Director arrested for allegedly dragging 6-year-old child

Philadelphia, Pa — Police have arrested and charged 50-year-old Nakia Bartley for an alleged assault on a 6-year-old child. Bartley is the director at Rainbow Daycare & Learning located on West Huntingdon Street in North Philadelphia. Investigators say the incident took place on August 6th when Bartley report ably told the young child to sit down.

Diamond Murray who is the mother of the 6-year-old girl described what her daughter told her about what happened she stated, “She said, ”I was standing by the table, and I wasn’t bothering anyone,” she added. “She said, ”And then (Bartley) just pushed me down to the ground and punched me, and then she dragged me and threw me in the bathroom. Then she just kept hitting me. When she closed the door, she just kept hitting me and hitting me.”

Lonny Fish who is Bartley’s attorney released a statement saying “I am currently conducting my investigation, which already is predominantly proving her innocence at every rock that I turn over. We look forward to how this will unfold in court.”

Nakia Bartley is facing multiple charges including unlawful restraint, recklessly endangering another person, aggravated assault, and other related offenses.
