(FOX40.COM) — Fire crews have reached 22% containment on the September Lightning Complex Fire, Cal Fire said Friday morning.
The complex fire is made up of different fires across Calaveras County, Tuolumne County, San Joaquin County and Stanislaus County that began Tuesday following a number of lightning strikes.
Cal Fire estimates that the fire has burned at least 13,966 acres, including parts of historic Chinese Camp, as of Friday morning.
Evacuation orders remain in effect for parts of the area affected by the fires:
- 6-5 Fire
- Chinese Camp Town
- Six Bit Ranch Road
- Six Bit Gulch Road
- Red Hill Road
- J-59 to Old Don Pedro Road
- Don Pedro Dam Road
- Old Don Pedro Dam Road
- Menkee Hess Road
- Both sides of Highway 120 from Chinese Camp to the Highway 120 Bridge
- Rojo
- Shawmut Road
- All Roads east of Highway 108 from J-59 to Highway 120
- 2-7 Fire
- CCU-134-C, and CCU-134-E.
The following areas are under an evacuation warning:
- 6-5 Fire
- All Areas from Bell Mooney & Jacksonville Road
- West to Highway 49 and Highway 108 South to Old Jacksonville Road
- All roads East of Highway 108 from Junction 59 to Highway 49
- Highway 49, Enterprise Drive and High-Tech Drive
- 2-7 Fire
- CCU-114, CCU-115, CCU-132-A, CCU-133-B, CCU-134-A, CCU-134-D, CCU-134-F, and CCU-143-B.
- Residences accessed via Vallecito Bypass Road
- Residences accessed via Bowling Green Road
- 2870 Highway 4 and all areas south of that location
- 634 Six Mile Road and all homes northeast of that address
In Calaveras County, Bret Harte High School has been established as an evacuation shelter for residents and their pets.
A separate livestock shelter has been set up at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds Livestock Evaluation Center on Frogtown Road.
In Tuolumne County, the Sonora Senior Center at 540 Greenley Road is serving as an evacuation center.
Cal Fire said at least 85 structures have been destroyed by the fire and another 6 have been damaged.
The fire agency reported that 2,166 fire personnel have been assigned to the fire and that one firefighter was injured.
