Public bathrooms at both parks were damaged from the vandalism.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The City of Pittsfield is asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects of a recent vandalism at two city parks.

The city said copper was stolen from Clapp Park and the Common which caused damage to public bathrooms and the splash pads. They must now repair and install new doors, locks, toilets, sinks, dispensers, and mirrors. New piping will also need to be installed in order to reopen the bathrooms and splash pads later this year.

“We are devastated that this activity has taken place and are going to try our best to have things repaired in time for spring. However, we have a lot of work ahead to have bathroom facilities and splash pads available in these two locations,” stated the city.

If you have any information on the incidents, you are asked to call Pittsfield Police at 413-448-9700.
