Consumer sentiment rose in October

The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index increased 0.6% in October compared to the month prior, landing at 70.5, according to final results for the month. The October figure was up 10.5% from a year ago. The current conditions component of the index rose 2.5% from the month prior, landing at 64.9, while the consumer expectations index fell 0.4% to 74.1.
