A property for sale in Mulhall, Oklahoma, is turning heads on a popular real estate social media page and has some people asking “huh?”

The 171-acre residence is named the Logan County Compound, and according to the listing on Zillow, it’s “a blend of privacy, productivity and potential.”

There’s also a curious thing about it — there are no zoning or permits required, so the owner can build at will.

“Whether you are looking for a working farm, hunting retreat, or a multifamily getaway, The Compound has it all,” the listing says.

“The property features three homes totaling about 4,500 square feet of living space, with seven bedrooms and four bathrooms combined. The centerpiece is a 3,700 square foot custom-built main home designed to endure the elements, constructed to resist fire, wind, and rot.”

Features throughout the interior of the main home, per the listing, include:

  • Metal roof
  • Mexican-style bathrooms
  • Can be off-grid
  • Swimming pool
  • Views

“Outdoors, the land speaks for itself. With nearly a quarter-mile of live creek frontage on both sides and two stocked ponds filled with trophy bass, water is a defining feature,” the listing says.

While this seems like a lovely getaway, the popular Facebook page Zillow Gone Wild has mixed thoughts. The page showcases unique properties all around the country.

“What they’re saying is, you can build a racetrack around the compound,” one person said in regard to the no permits.

“‘No permits’ means dude built it himself without any planning or architect and it’ll probably collapse in 5 years….” another commented.

“I could move there right now (if someone else would pay for it),” someone said.

“Aside from my need for more lighting, I like the ability to never see anyone again,” one person chimed in.

Mulhall is about a 50-mile drive north from Oklahoma City.
