BEREA, Ohio (WJW) — It was a big day for the Cleveland Browns, paring down their roster to just 53 players. Head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke to the media on Tuesday, explaining that the decision to cut some and keep others is always difficult.

But prior to 4 p.m., the team announced its final roster, naming just three quarterbacks: Joe Flacco, Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. This came after the Browns released veteran Tyler Huntley on Sunday and on Monday traded Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders for a fifth-round pick next year.

The controversial Deshaun Watson remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list after rupturing his Achilles tendon last year.

Flacco was selected as the team’s starting quarterback for the regular season last week, and now, Stefanski confirmed that Gabriel is the backup quarterback (as seen in the video at the top of the story).

“He is certainly somebody that we think is getting better and better,” Stefanski told reporters of Gabriel.

Sanders is going to dress on game day as the emergency third QB. Find the full roster right here.
