Houston home sales increased 1.3% year over year during the week ended Dec. 1, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.
Buyers closed on 1,594 homes, up from 1,573 during the same week a year prior. Pending listings plummeted 17.4% — however, that drop is typical of Thanksgiving week seasonality.
Meanwhile, Realtors added 1,801 properties to the MLS, a 4.1% drop from a year ago.
Agents were busy hosting 6,567 open houses during the week, though — a 44% year-over-year increase, up from 4,562 open houses. Traffic at showings also rose 1.1% year over year.
