CLEVELAND (WJW) — A 67-year-old man convicted of sexually assaulting four children, at least one of whom was 4 years old, will now spend the rest of his life in prison.

A Cuyahoga County judge last month found Billy Flynn, 67, of Cleveland, guilty of three counts of rape and nine counts of gross sexual imposition, each of which included a sexually violent predator specification.

That judge on Wednesday sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

“This sentence ensures that Billy Flynn will never again have the opportunity to harm another child,” Prosecutor Michael O’Malley is quoted in the release. “My heart goes out to the victims who displayed incredible courage throughout this process, and I hope this provides them with some semblance of peace.”

Prosecutors said Flynn sexually assaulted the four young girls between 2002 and 2012. The victims were between the ages of 4 and 12 at the time of the sexual assaults and were connected to Flynn’s family, according to the release.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office’s Genetic Operations Linking DNA Unit — or G.O.L.D. Unit — investigated the case.

Flynn’s May 2024 indictment included four additional charges of rape. A judge acquitted him of three of those charges and the fourth was dismissed, court records show.
