CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Cleveland Guardians are trying to complete the biggest comeback in the history of divisional play. And it all comes down to this week.
They now trail Detroit by one game in the AL Central after once being 15.5 games back. There are six games left for the Guardians regular season, and all six of them are at home at Progressive Field.
Starting Tuesday night there are three games against Detroit Tigers, and then three games against the Texas Rangers to finish out the regular season.
This is the week that can change everything. They could end up winning the AL Central Division, they could win a Wild Card spot, or they could be knocked out of playoffs all together.
That’s why the team is asking for fans to come out and support and pack the seats.
From 10 a.m. Tuesday until first pitch Tuesday night (6:40 p.m.) you can buy tickets free of fees to the last six games. Saturday there is Fan Appreciation Night with fireworks and dollar dogs.
“Come down to the ballpark and enjoy,” said Team Historian Jeremy Feador. “Bring family, bring friends. Get a hot dog, watch out for Slider and The Hot Dogs and savor those last few minutes of summer.”
