Normally, Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio. For example, 1,000 Ultimate Rewards points equal 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy. Now, for a limited time, you will receive a 65% bonus. That means that every 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points that you transfer, will get you 1,650 Bonvoy points.
Guru’s Wrap-up
The value of this promotion will depend on how much you value Chase Ultimate Rewards points and Marriott Bonvoy points. I have a subjective valuation of some of the major point currencies here, and I have a value of 1.7¢ for Chase Ultimate Rewards and 0.6¢ for Marriott Bonvoy points. While the valuation could be different for everyone, the math will still be against doing such transfers even with a 65% bonus.
However, this could work on some specific instances where you can get outsized value for your Marriott Bonvoy points, or if you just need more points towards a redemption.
