Charlotte Urban Sketchers: Sketch at the bar at Harris Teeter Cotswold – Charlotte On The Cheap

Charlotte Urban Sketchers is a group that meets up at various spots around Charlotte to sketch from life and meet other artists.

The bar is next to the frozen food. The bar also hosts live music on Thursdays. Bring something to sketch with and something to sketch on.

  • 6 p.m.: Meet and greet
  • 6:10 to 7:45 p.m.: Find a spot and sketch
  • 7:45 to 8 p.m.: Return to the bar area for a sketchbook throwdown (informal, fun critique)

Sketch at Hop & Vine Davidson Chess Club Night

Every Monday evening, Hop & Vine in downtown Davidson offers a free chess club night hosted by an instructor, chess master. Since playing chess is a pretty stationary activity, players engaged in games should make excellent subjects for sketching.

  • 7:30 p.m.: Meet and greet
  • 7:40 to 8:45 p.m.: Find a spot, order a drink and sketch
  • 8:45 to 9 p.m.: Gather with the group for a throwdown (informal, fun critique.)
