Battling cancer is a really hard thing, and the royal family has had two of its members doing so in the last few years. Kate Middleton is now in remission and back to public life. But King Charles, who never really stepped back from his duties for long, is still battling cancer, and there is concern about his well-being. In fact, rumors even indicate a funeral has already been planned and Prince William has taken on more duties in preparation for ascending the throne.
Now, an upcoming book, The Windsor Legacy by Robert Jobson, is providing details on how the King reacted to not his diagnosis, but the disclosure of it. In an excerpt from the book, published by the Daily Mail, Jobson wrote that after Charles went “public” with his diagnosis, he’s “been reduced to tears—not by his plight, but by the thousands of warm letters he has received.”

“Some were cards, clearly made by children and covered in glitter or accompanying a get-well gift of Smarties,” the author said, explaining that for the King it was very meaningful after a long period of feeling like his bad image due to his longtime affair with now Queen Camilla would never change.
Long-time public backlash “from those who adored his late wife Diana” made it so that “Charles was simply overwhelmed to learn that so many cared and wished him well.”
King Charles’ health has been the subject of much scrutiny ever since he was diagnosed. That has increased tenfold recently, as rumors about how Prince Andrew’s scandals have affected his health have surfaced. RadarOnline.com recently reported that the king is “physically sick with worry” about the ongoing issues with his brother, and that even as he has already stripped him of his titles and evicted him from Royal Lodge, there is concern that his cancer treatment has left him “too frail” to deal with the crisis Andrew has created. “It’s going to kill him,” sources said.
“The King is utterly worn down by it. Just when he thinks the matter has settled, another revelation surfaces. It’s placing enormous strain on him. He’s doing his best to focus on his recovery and royal work, but the constant stress is really affecting his health,” a source explained, adding that there’s concern that the revelations about Andrew won’t stop coming.
RadarOnline.com recently reported that the king is battling pancreatic cancer and is not doing well. “The palace is desperately trying to downplay the seriousness of His Majesty’s illness,” an insider told the outlet. “But Charles knows it’s the end, and so do his sons. William is formally making plans for his version of the future of the monarchy – with or without Charles’ blessing – and making his own decisions as king.”
Not so long ago, Rob Shuter’s Substack, also reported that the King was “dying” and that his health issues have even forced Prince William to take on more royal duties. According to Shuter, Charles is “seriously unwell but determined to carry on,” and, “He’s exhausted, but he won’t stop. Every morning he insists on reading his red boxes. He believes his service to the country is his calling — and he’ll keep going as long as he can.”
