Combigrip Launches Hands-Free Grocery Bag Hook

    [ad_1]

Introducing the extra-strong grocery bag and gear hook for full hands and heavy loads.

    Press Release

    updated: May 12, 2021

The Combigrip is an evolution in carrying technology: a 5-inch hook and ring combo that enables you to carry up to 300 pounds, hands-free.

It was conceived by Paulina Dzienska one hot Miami day as she lugged bag after bag of groceries from her car to her condo. Every time she got to her door, she had to put all the bags down and pick them up again to get her keys out. Then she noticed that her neighbors had the same problem. “I saw one man trying to unlock his door with his dog’s leash in one hand while juggling three bags of groceries. It was an accident waiting to happen!”

    A hands-free hook, or a handle
Paulina sat down and sketched out the basic idea for a hands-free carrying device, with a two-part design, so the handle could be detached and used separately. The hook enables users to easily slip items on and off, while the ring offers a way to clip on keys or carabiners. With help from some of her husband’s business contacts, she approached Swedish designer Jonas Blanking. Blanking was behind the first hard-case backpack, Boblbee.

    Sturdy design. Lightweight construction.
As a designer primarily for the automotive and sports industries, Blanking immediately had ideas for how to make Paulina’s concept durable and easy to use. The patented hook and ring combo are forged out of a sturdy, glass-fiber-enforced PP homopolymer that’s both strong and lightweight. The adjustable cloth shoulder strap is designed for comfort, and can be worn messenger-style or like a purse.

    Carry your weight
While the initial idea was to offload shoppers, the Combigrip’s innovative design and ability to carry more than 300 pounds makes it the perfect accessory for everyone from moms and grandparents to athletes and construction workers. With the Combigrip, they can carry extra line, extra tool bags, buckets or even snowshoes.

    Only make one trip
Paulina says her goal is just to help people save a little time and make life a little easier. “I only wish I’d had thought of it sooner,” she says, “so I could have used it when I went shopping with my young children.”

The Combigrip is now available on Amazon, or directly from the Combigrip website: http://www.combigrip.com/

New Study From University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Identifies Five Double-Sun Planets That Could Support Life

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    updated: May 11, 2021

Luke Skywalker’s view of two suns in Star Wars is fictional, but recent research from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign found that five known systems having double-star planets like Tatooine could support life.

“We used data collected by the Kepler spacecraft such as the mass of the stars, how bright the stars are, the location of a giant planet, and other parameters to create a methodology to identify systems with two suns that can host habitable Earth-like planets,” said Siegfried Eggl, faculty member in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Habitability is defined in this research as planets, like Skywalker’s home and Earth, that have liquid water somewhere on their surface.

The researchers investigated the effects of double-star and giant planets on habitable zones of nine systems observed by the Kepler mission. They confirmed earlier studies claiming that Kepler-16 and Kepler-1647 host giant planets that make them not suited to host a terrestrial planet within their habitable zones. However, Kepler-34, Kepler-35, Kepler-38, Kepler-64, and Kepler-413 seem much more promising—with Kepler-38 being the best candidate for hosting Earth-like worlds with oceans.

Eggl said the methodology they developed is based on analytical equations rather than computer simulations that have to run day and night for months.

“It’s an analytic method that requires almost no computational effort whatsoever,” Eggl said. “There are some parts that use numerical models to feed in information, such as the way that the atmosphere interacts to different amounts and spectra of sunlight. That’s really difficult to figure out analytically so we used pre-computed atmospheric models for that. The benefit of our approach is that anyone can take our equations and apply them to other systems to determine where to best look for Earth-like worlds.”

The Earth’s orbit around the Sun is nearly circular, ensuring that the planet receives an almost constant amount of radiation on a permanent basis. But that isn’t true for planets that orbit two suns. The second star provides an additional source of radiation and another source of gravitational pull. And even if a planet’s orbit is initially circular around the two suns, it will become elliptic over time.

Because of this, Eggl said dynamical stability is a necessary condition for habitability of a two-sun planet, but it is not the only one.

“If a planet comes too close to its suns its oceans could boil away. If the planet is too far out, or even ejected from a system, water on its surface will ultimately freeze, as will the atmosphere itself, like CO2 that forms seasonal polar caps on Mars.

“Once we confirm that a potentially habitable planet is on a stable orbit, we can proceed to investigate how much radiation it receives from the two stars over time. By modeling the evolution of the stars and planetary orbits we can estimate the actual amount or radiation the planet receives.”

In Eggl’s doctoral dissertation, he developed an analytic framework to determine habitable zones in double-star systems. He said subsequent research and this new work “completes the picture. We know that planets can form in these systems and now we know they can actually retain water on the surface, and it’s pretty awesome.”

Siegfried Eggl is an affiliate member of NASA’s Nexus for Exoplanet System Science, NASA’s scientific investigation team for the Double Asteroid Redirection Test mission and is on the research team for the Vera Rubin Observatory, currently being built in Chile.

The study, “Circumbinary Habitable Zones in the Presence of a Giant Planet” written by Nikolaos Georgakarakos, Siegfried Eggl, and Ian Dobbs-Dixon, is published in Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences. DOI: 10.3389/fspas.2021.640830

  • IMS Barter Announces Infrastructure Investment

    IMS Barter Announces Infrastructure Investment

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    updated: May 7, 2021

International Monetary Systems, Ltd. announced its second major website upgrade in the last six months to better serve its client base. This investment in infrastructure for IMS clients shows its commitment to continue to be the worldwide leader in business-to-business barter services.

The website upgrade, launched at the end of April 2021, focuses on the travel industry to help bolster sales across this pandemic-devastated sector of business. Gathering inspiration from other major travel websites such as Airbnb, TripAdvisor, Kayak, and others, the developers at IMS created carefully curated collections of travel properties available throughout the expansive, international IMS network.

These collections feature properties such as all-inclusive resorts, vacation homes, hunting and fishing lodges, bed & breakfasts, cabins, condominiums, hotels, plus much more, and allow IMS travelers to quickly select and book their stays in the type of accommodation they desire. In addition, the website will suggest nearby activities and restaurants offered through the IMS network to the shopper to improve their overall travel experience.

“We are looking at innovative ways to enhance the everyday client buying experience and, at the same time, increase the seller’s occupancy levels and market share. This website upgrade accomplishes both,” says CEO John Strabley.

Recent website updates focused on expanding the IMS virtual marketplace platform where IMS clients list and sell products online. These upgraded features added a shopping experience more like Amazon or Etsy and the update saw an increase in web traffic for IMS by over 500%.

Founded in 1985, International Monetary Systems (IMS) serves 23,000 cardholders in 52 North American markets. Based in New Berlin, Wisconsin, IMS is the largest barter company in the world. The IMS network allows companies to create cost savings and connect to new customers by incorporating barter opportunities in their business models. Santa Maria Valley is Fired Up for National Barbecue Month

    [ad_1]

Visit Santa Maria Valley encourages travelers, digital nomads and culinary adventure seekers to gather around the grill and turn up the heat for National Barbecue Month in May.

    Press Release

    updated: Apr 30, 2021

Visit Santa Maria Valley encourages travelers, digital nomads and culinary adventure seekers to gather around the grill and turn up the heat for National Barbecue Month in May.

Santa Maria Style Barbecue started in the mid-19th century when the rancheros gathered to help each other brand their calves each spring. As a thank-you to his fellow vaqueros — America’s first cowboys — the host would prepare a Spanish-style barbecue, consisting of beef barbecued over a red-oak fire, served with Pinquito beans, bread, salsa and homemade desserts.

The present-day Santa Maria Style Barbecue grew out of this tradition when locals began to string their beef on skewers and cook it over the hot coals of a red-oak fire. The meat, either top-block sirloin or tri-tip, is rolled in a mixture of salt, pepper, and garlic powder and slow-roasted over native red-oak, giving it a hearty, smoky flavor. Served with salsa, French bread dipped in melted sweet butter, Pinquito beans, and a fresh green salad, Sunset Magazine named this Valley classic feast the best barbecue in the world, and the California Visitor’s Guide dubbed it the number one food not to miss while visiting California.

Here are several ways to pepper the month of May:

    Follow the Barbecue Trail
Visitors to Santa Maria Valley can enjoy this complimentary map of scrumptious barbecue pit stops along your Central California Coast road trip excursion. If guests prefer to dine-in, outdoor and indoor seating options are available. It is best to call the restaurant prior to your visit to ensure the latest information on COVID-19 guidelines.

    Highlights include:

    • The Hitching Post – The Casmalia location is one of the Valley’s most famous and a true local’s favorite.
    • Far Western Tavern – The menu celebrates the tried and true dishes from the restaurant’s original location, which opened in the Palace Hotel building in Guadalupe in 1958. California ranch-inspired cuisine includes multiple cuts of beef, pork, ribs and chicken.
    • Jocko’s Steakhouse – Since 1926, Jocko’s has served up good food in an unpretentious environment and is known for its generous portions.
    • Rancho Nipomo BBQ – Barbecue, Cal-Mex fare and beers fill up this rustic, mission-style hangout.
    • Shaw’s Steakhouse and Tavern – A true gem in Santa Maria, this is as authentic as it gets for Santa Maria Style Barbecue.

    A Sizzle Video
We encourage you to keep dreaming about your next Central Coast getaway. Season your imagination by watching a Santa Maria Style Barbecue video to see what this unofficial fifth regional style of barbecue is all about. It’s a simple, yet delicious, tradition.

Jaime Flores, founder of the Santa Maria Valley Barbecue Festival, will show you how to make a bountiful meal from your grill or your kitchen. In this video, he will demonstrate how to make Santa Maria Style Barbecue using ingredients from your local grocery store so you can bring the style to your very own home.

Download the Complimentary Santa Maria Style Barbecue Cookbook
Next, order your Instacart ingredients to make a hearty and filling Santa Maria Style Barbecue family recipe at home. Set up your tablets and download this free cookbook to access the Santa Maria Style tradition. You can use many types of beef, including tri-tip, steaks or top sirloin. If you are a pescatarian or vegetarian, Santa Maria Style seasoning can top seafood or vegetables to make your meal memorable. Susie Q’s Santa Maria Style seasoning, salsa, Pinquito beans and California red oak chips can be ordered online and shipped right to you.

Barbecue + Wine is Saucy and Divine
Santa Maria Style Barbecue and locally produced wines are the perfect pairing. Typically, Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir and Rhone-style varietals like Syrah will hold up to the bold flavors of barbecue. The Santa Maria Valley soil, climate and other native local conditions shape the wine’s character. With the marine climate and dry sandy-loam soils, it’s not hard to find wines that exhibit a strong sense of place. Wines from Riverbench, Foxen and cnagy complement such a meal and can be purchased online. If dessert is on the menu, strawberries are the ideal finale. As one of North America’s most prolific strawberry producers, Santa Maria Valley berries are abundant this time of year.

The Best Trailer is the One You Don’t Have to Tow

Stream It, Inc., headquartered in Las Vegas, NV announces the CyberLandr, an innovative camper/overlander for the Tesla Cybertruck. Rather than being tethered to RV parks for power, water/sewer, or Internet access, CyberLandr lets you take a kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and office anywhere and everywhere for ultimate wilderness and urban adventures.

When stowed, CyberLandr disappears entirely within the bed of the Tesla Cybertruck allowing the tonneau cover and tailgate to close, creating an exceptionally low center of gravity, zero aerodynamic drag, and minimal effect on range. This allows you to take CyberLandr through terrain more rugged than you would dare take most overlanding trailers, while still being able to take it into a parking garage at the mall or a Starbucks drive-thru.

The Best Camper Is the One You Always Have With You

Because CyberLandr fits in normal parking spaces and doesn’t obstruct outward visibility, you can take it more places and use it more often—including urban adventures like soccer tournaments and little league games so you can keep snacks cold in the fridge, have a place to relax between games, and provide a restroom for the team. And you can also take a hot shower after a day at the beach or a bike ride before you drive home or go out to dinner.

With the included StarLink dish providing Internet access (subscription required), you can stream HD movies to the 32-inch SmartTV/monitor, play video games, participate in a Zoom conference, and even make and receive cell phone calls using WiFi Calling from just about anywhere (except Antarctica). The CyberLandr’s plush, freestanding chairs also recline and transform into an RV-size queen bed.

Even with all the storage provided by the Cybertruck’s cavernous frunk, sail panel storage, and generous interior space, you may occasionally find the need to remove Cyberlandr to haul 4×8 sheets of plywood or a load of mulch. For those times, there is an available dolly to make it easy to remove and store the CyberLandr.

    The Ultimate Cybertruck Accessory

CyberLandr’s aesthetics, features, and accompanying app are all designed to complement and enhance the Tesla Cybertruck experience. For example, the CyberLandr’s marble-look porcelain kitchen countertop mirrors the Cybertruck’s dashboard. And just like the Cybertruck, CyberLandr has voice activated automation to control features like lights, its electrochromic dimming windows, and even the faucet. You can also use the app to control these features, to deploy and stow CyberLandr, and to view the 360-degree surround surveillance system. CyberLandr even supports OTA (over-the-air) updates so it continues to improve over time. Can any other RV or adventure vehicle do that?

A recirculating shower means you won’t run out of hot water if you decide to take a longer shower. Radiant heated floors keep you comfortable when it gets cold, and the dry flush toilet means there is never a black-water tank or cassette to empty, clean, or smell. And because the CyberLandr is all electric, you never need to run around town to buy propane, gas, or diesel fuel – a simple charge is all it takes. And 500 Watts of included solar panels help replenish the Cybertruck’s batteries.

An on-board four-stage water filtration system with UV sterilization ensures the water always tastes great regardless of the source, and the fresh water can be replenished when boondocking using clear water from a stream or lake.

You Are Now Free to Roam Around the Earth

People yearn for adventure and exploration. It invigorates, renews souls, dispels depression, and provides a new outlook on life. That is why people like to travel and experience new places. But even when air travel is no longer restricted due to a pandemic, having a vacation dictated by flight schedules, hotel check-in and check-out times, and car rental return deadlines can take a lot of joy out of travel. With CyberLandr, people are free to roam around the Earth on a whim.

With CyberLandr people are better prepared for emergencies like fires, floods, earthquakes, and social unrest should they need to leave on a moment’s notice. CyberLandr is here to usher in the post-SUV era of the eco-friendly adventure vehicle so people can enjoy more of the nature they love while treading more lightly upon it.

Eastern Airlines selects TPConnects as its Technology Provider for NDC based distribution

    Press Release

    updated: Mar 30, 2021

Eastern Airlines, historically known as one of the “Big Four” carriers in the United States, announced that it has achieved the New Distribution Capability (NDC) Level 4 Certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The certification enables a dynamic and cost-effective distribution model for Eastern Airlines as it further improves the airline’s communication capabilities with its travel partners using rich content.

Eastern Airlines’ NDC Level 4 Certification was facilitated through its partnership with TPConnects, an IATA NDC Dual Level 4 Certified IT Provider and Aggregator. Additionally, as its travel technology partner, TPConnects revamped Eastern Airlines’ recently launched Internet Booking Engine (IBE) goeasternair.com. Along with the IBE, the airline’s Travel Agency booking portal is also powered by TPConnects NDC Offer and Order Management Solution. It enables the airlines to control various interfaces through a single Middleware and provide Offers to customers in real-time.

Steve Harfst, President & CEO, Eastern Airlines, said, “IATA’s NDC Level 4 Certification is a pivotal investment that assists Eastern’s mission in providing underserved markets with direct, nonstop flights at the best value. We can now ensure that our passengers have direct access to relevant content across both direct and indirect distribution channels that are unique to their wants and expectations. The NDC standard allows Eastern to efficiently create, deliver, and control inventory that is both reliable and secure for the passenger. Our travel partners can now benefit from access to our full range of product offerings, merchandising, and servicing capabilities and the end-to-end order lifecycle from booking to completion. We look forward to our continued partnership with TPConnects, a proven technology expert in the field, as we transform the way we go to market and deliver enhanced customer experiences as part of the Eastern Promise.

Rajendran Vellapalath, CEO, TPConnects, said, “Our latest partnership with the American carrier Eastern Airlines is a milestone with many firsts, much to the credit of the collaboration and the expertise it brought to the table. It is indeed a testimony to our follow-the-sun approach where teams across time zones collaborated successfully to simultaneously deliver multiple NDC-enabled products for the airline. This is especially significant for TPConnects as we expanded our product portfolio with the delivery of the Internet Booking Engine within TPConnects Airline Solutions. Given the scope of the partnership, we are committed and well-positioned as the partner-of-choice to support Eastern Airlines with a gamut of industry-leading services and innovative travel technology solutions.”

Vacation Ownership Consultants Provides Tips on How to Exhaust Your Options With Timeshare Resorts

    [ad_1]

When it comes to getting rid of vacation ownership or managing the financial obligation during rough patches, understanding how to go about handling the matter is key.

    Press Release

    updated: Mar 16, 2021

Aside from the extensive amount of fraud in the exit realm, timeshare companies have been known to leverage an owner’s despair as an upsell opportunity. If you know how to exhaust your options with timeshare resorts, then the chances of making wise decisions (to avoid further setbacks) drastically increases.

Whether you hire VOC to guide you or not, finding someone you can trust is extremely beneficial. There are hundreds of narratives out there looking to take advantage of an owner’s desperation. But before you go trying to figure out which pitch scratches your itch, try to see the full picture of your contract and the situation you’re currently in.

Waiting to Use Your Timeshare Can Be Exhausting.

COVID-19 has not only made everyone’s life a little bit more strenuous, but it’s created quite the stir amongst timeshare owners. Besides an inability to use their expensive vacation, they’ve remained on the hook for payments and annual dues. In fact, maintenance fees are still rising despite minimal upkeep and house cleaning services. Truth be told, many of these employees have been let go.

So how are owners supposed to work things out with the resort under these conditions? Well, first and foremost, they have to avoid desperate measures at all costs. Tread with caution when accepting or trusting in what the timeshare’s sales or retention department is spoon feeding you as it may lead to an upsell with further commitments.

In case you weren’t aware, the helping hand hasn’t exactly been beneficial for owners over the past year.

Exhausting Your Options with Timeshare Resorts.

Even if escaping the burden may appear to be a lost cause, making an attempt to exhaust your options before walking away is necessary. The perpetuated myth of the industry is that resorts want disgruntled buyers to think it’s impossible to get out of a timeshare. But if the purchase is hindering you, what do you have to lose?

Those that just stop making payments or attempt to file a lawsuit are often caught off guard by the uphill battle and uncertainty throughout. This is why owners ought to approach their escape plan as a methodical process with a sprinkle of professionalism and a focus on efficiency.

Every mistake can be costly. If you don’t take it seriously, a number of things could go wrong. With that being said, if you’re looking to exhaust your options with timeshare resorts, visit the article here for some tips to digest.

Roadtrippers Launches ‘Voices from the Road’

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    updated: Mar 11, 2021

Roadtrippers, the world’s #1 road trip planning tool, is launching Voices from the Road. The new storytelling project amplifies underrepresented voices in the outdoor and road travel space and focuses on every aspect of roadtripping — not just the Instagram-friendly version.

Road trips are often depicted with familiar views from picture-perfect locations. But these photoshopped images don’t tell the full story of road travel, where vehicles break down, travelers get hangry and lost, and the weather doesn’t always cooperate. Amazingly, it’s often during these difficult situations that the real memories are made. To understand what road travel is really all about, it’s important to hear from travelers from all kinds of backgrounds.

“One of our goals with Voices from the Road is to help democratize roadtripping and remove any gatekeeping around who gets to travel and have their voice heard,” said Sanna Boman, editor in chief of Roadtrippers.

Voices from the Road’s first published stories cover a lot of ground, literally and topically:

“Last year, Roadtrippers users planned more than three million road trips spanning two billion total miles,” said Boman. “That is three million potential stories about the ups, downs, joys, frustrations, adventures, and unexpected experiences that any road trip brings with it — and we want to hear those stories.”

Roadtrippers has been recognized as a leading authority in road travel through its team of experts and outstanding editorial content. Recent awards include a 2020 gold medal from the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA).

    About Roadtrippers

TPConnects Partners With Gulf Air to Step Up Retailing Capabilities With IATA NDC Level 4 Certification

    [ad_1]

Dubai-based TPConnects to launch a full-fledged, IATA NDC-enabled, distribution enabling Gulf Air to capitalize on revenue opportunities, increase loyalty and improve overall customer experience.

    Press Release

    updated: Mar 9, 2021

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced it has achieved NDC Level 4 certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

In line with Gulf Air’s digital strategy, the Level 4 certification will now empower the airline to provide the full extent of its Offer and Order Management and servicing capabilities to its direct and indirect distribution channels, including IATA and non-IATA members, across the globe. Gulf Air has partnered with TPConnects, an IATA NDC certificated IT Provider and Aggregator, as its technology partner to develop the NDC-enabled distribution platform.

In a challenging operating environment brought on by the Covid-19 crisis, this timely announcement marks a significant milestone for Gulf Air as it explores cost-saving and increased revenue-generating measures and seeks to leverage opportunities for top-line growth and bottom-line benefits.

On the occasion of receiving the NDC Level 4 official certification, Gulf Air’s Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Vincent Coste said: “As part of our digital transformation, our focus continues to be on driving innovation and strengthening the value proposition through this downturn. With IATA’s NDC Level 4 certification, we are well-poised to improve the retailing and servicing experience across our global multi-channel distribution network, underpinned by a customer-centric approach. Apart from the anticipated cost savings, it will also give us the flexibility to create and fully control our inventory and content distribution across channels – from Online Travel Agencies, travel agents and Travel Management Companies (TMC) – providing easy access to rich content and differentiated, personalized and dynamic offers.”

Commenting on the announcement, Rajendran Vellapalath, CEO, TPConnects, said, “As Gulf Air’s technology partner, we are committed to supporting the airline in an ever-changing landscape as it focuses on long-term growth and sustainability. Our NDC-based technology, including NDCMarketplace.com and Combined Airline API and Airline Agent Platform with air and non-air ancillaries, will enable Gulf Air to tap into revenue opportunities and reduce costs associated with distribution, while increasing customer loyalty and satisfaction. Under this partnership, we have plans in place to roll out Gulf Air’s NDC-enabled platform and deliver Live NDC transactions in March 2021.”

In a time where agility and personalization are paramount, the Level 4 NDC certification will help Gulf Air to provide greater transparency, accelerate the speed of communication, swiftly address servicing requirements and serve a wide range of business needs with exclusive rich content and real-time personalized combinations of products and merchandising across its channels.

Travel and corporate partners, including IATA and Non-IATA travel agents, who wish to access Gulf Air’s NDC content will be able to register their interest on https://ndc.gulfair.com in the coming few weeks.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign for the EATI | Anti-bacterial Titanium Utensil Multi-Tool, SEPTEM continues to focus on creating an ultra-light, incredibly durable camping necessity for backpackers, hikers, and all manner of outdoors people.

The SEPTEM titanium Grill & Hotplate is the lightest backpacking grill on the planet. It has been specifically designed to suit the needs of lightweight camping and bushcraft expeditions. It’s large enough to cook two steaks side-by-side but small enough to slide in your pack without taking up any valuable space. This is the perfect cooking unit for those looking to save on weight without compromising on quality. Every detail has been precisely engineered and constructed to ensure this grill will last you a lifetime.

    Portable, Lightweight, and Convenient

Everyone loves BBQ and other grilled foods when they’re camping. But cleaning, moving, and storing your grill is always a challenge. Often, a typical grill’s bulky size and general lack of storage space are obstacles for outdoor lovers.

    Half Hotplate – Half Grill

The original design of SEPTEM Grill & Hotplate is to make the two versatile cooking methods on such a small grill plate. Two ways to cook the food you love, wherever you are.

    Made from Titanium – Anti-bacterial, Anti-corrosion, Anti-rust

When titanium is exposed to air, an ultra-thin layer of titanium atoms interacts with the oxygen to create a nano-coating of titanium dioxide (Titania). Titania-based nano-composites subjected to light are remarkably effective in repelling microbial growth. In simple terms? This makes food safer to eat, stay fresher, and taste better.

  • Matthew Keezer Recommends Seychelles as a Great Destination Option During COVID-19

Matthew Keezer Recommends Seychelles as a Great Destination Option During COVID-19

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    updated: Mar 1, 2021

Seychelles is one of the most popular travel destinations, thanks to its stunning beaches, breathtaking wildlife, world-class diving experiences, and tasty Creole cuisine. The great news is that Seychelles is open to visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic and remains one of the relatively safe destinations to visit. Matthew Keezer, the former CEO of Momentum Travel and now a travel consultant, provided the following information about safe caribbean travel.

Throughout 2020, Seychelles reported low COVID-19 infection rates and typically registered zero cases most days last year. However, after Christmas 2020, Seychelles started recording an increase in daily infections. Since December, the beautiful island country has recorded 1,033 COVID-19 cases and three deaths.

Even though Seychelles has recorded a spike in COVID-19 cases, Matthew Keezer would still recommend this destination. As he points out, these numbers are not alarming. “Seychelles has recorded about a thousand cases for 100,000 people. In comparison, the U.S. had reported nearly 7,500 cumulative COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents as of Jan. 24,” Matthew Keezer explains.

Matthew Keezer also adds that the Seychelles government is taking the spike in cases very seriously and has taken action immediately. To prevent COVID-19 from spreading, Seychelles enforced measures such as closures and travel limitations. The island country is planning to start welcoming visitors as of mid-March.

The decision to start welcoming international travelers is based on the belief that Seychelles will have vaccinated almost 75% of its adult population by that time, making the country a relatively safe destination for visitors. According to a press release issued by the country’s Department of Tourism, Seychelles wants to be the first country in the world to use vaccinations “to achieve herd immunity.”

As Matthew Keezer points out, COVID-19 will linger for a bit longer. However, there is no reason to avoid traveling for another year, especially to destinations that are doing everything in their power to eradicate the virus.

Even though Seychelles will start welcoming travelers soon, there will be some limitations. The destination will welcome all vaccinated travelers who can prove that they’ve taken a “complete dose” of a vaccine — meaning two doses — at least two weeks before arriving. Also, even vaccinated travelers will have to provide a negative result from an RT-PCR COVID-19 test taken less than 72 hours prior to traveling. All vaccinated travelers will be required to stay in hotels or guesthouses that have been certified for so-called “Category 1” travelers.

Seychelles will also allow unvaccinated travelers to enter if they arrive via private jet or come from a list of 48 permitted countries. These travelers will also have to provide a negative PCR test upon their arrival. They will also be required to stay in certified accommodations. However, these travelers will have to quarantine for 10 days.

For all those eligible to travel to Seychelles, Matthew Keezer recommends regularly checking government announcements to stay up to date with the latest rules and regulations.

Transportation Communications Union Adds Law Firm, Sommers Schwartz to Designated Counsel List

In January 2021, the Transportation Communications Union (TCU) named the railroad lawyers of Sommers Schwartz, P.C., as Designated Legal Counsel.

    Press Release

    updated: Feb 25, 2021

Members of the Transportation Communications Union (TCU) and its divisions, such as the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, can choose to work with the highly skilled railroad injury attorneys at Sommers Schwartz for any workplace injury claim, including those arising under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA), as well as workplace disputes involving discrimination and retaliation.

FELA is the federal statute that gives injured railroad workers a means of recovery for an on-the-job accident. Unlike workers’ compensation laws, FELA created a negligence cause of action that allows injured railroaders the right to obtain damages for full lost wages and pain and suffering.

The Transportation Communications Union was founded in 1899 and represents the interests of more than 46,000 railway employees. The TCU represents employees from across the industry, including accountants, auto technicians, carmen, clerks, computer programmers, government workers, inter-modal workers, on-board service workers, police officers, reservations agents, secretaries, skycaps, and redcaps, supervisors, transit workers, truck drivers, and yardmasters.

Sommers Schwartz is a nationally recognized personal injury law firm consisting of the best and brightest attorneys in the industry. The firm’s experienced and knowledgeable FELA lawyers have successfully represented many injured rail workers, getting them the compensation, they need and deserve after a serious workplace accident.

SparkCharge Partners With Allstate, Spiffy, Mark Cuban, and Others to Launch BoostEV, the World’s First On-Demand Mobile EV Charging Network

    [ad_1]

BoostEV gains big partners in making electric vehicle ownership and charging more convenient.

    Press Release

    updated: Feb 23, 2021

Companies big and small are partnering with SparkCharge to create the world’s very first on-demand and mobile electric vehicle charging network. Now, with just the push of a button via SparkCharge’s BoostEV smartphone app, electric vehicle owners can access this new network and have a charge delivered directly to their vehicle. It’s quick, convenient, and contact-free.

Forward-thinking companies like Allstate Roadside, Spiffy, and others, have teamed up with SparkCharge to service electric vehicles in a way that has never been done before. Now, these companies can provide electric vehicle owners with a quick and convenient charging service by delivering a portable Roadie charging system to any location the driver desires. This service eliminates the need to rely on existing, non-mobile, electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

BoostEV Charging as a Service (CaaS) is now available in select cities such as Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, Raleigh, Richmond, VA, San Diego, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz.

“We’re building a completely new type of EV charging infrastructure,” shared SparkCharge CEO, Josh Aviv. “It’s mobile, on-demand and, for the first time, truly gives EV owners freedom and control to charge their car anytime, anywhere by ordering the service through the Boost EV app. Just like food delivery, EV owners can now have range delivered to them on the spot. When people think about EV charging, we know BoostEV will be top of mind for them.”

SparkCharge’s revolutionary electric vehicle charging network has already captured the attention of innovative, customer-centric companies. “Our relationship with SparkCharge supports our commitment to providing innovative solutions and a circle of protection for customers,” said Joan Trach, Allstate Roadside Chief Operating Officer. “With SparkCharge, Allstate Roadside is able to protect more customers by expanding roadside service and protection to those with electric vehicles. No matter what type of vehicle you drive, Allstate Roadside is there for you.”

“When SparkCharge appeared on Shark Tank, I knew they were on the cusp of something game-changing, and this is it. They have created a new, innovative EV charging infrastructure that eliminates the stress of range anxiety for all EV owners. The EV market is growing so fast and having a network completely free from the legacy issues of old infrastructure is huge. As an electric vehicle owner myself, getting my car charged while I do other things is priceless,” said Mark Cuban, serial entrepreneur, and SparkCharge investor.

With other states joining Massachusetts and California’s ban of new gas vehicle sales starting in 2035, the growing demand for electric vehicles is accelerating rapidly. The lack of needed infrastructure to support this growth has made mobile (non-grid reliant) charging a necessity to accelerate the momentum for EV adoption.

Companies like Spiffy are innovating by joining SparkCharge and offering BoostEV as a charging service alongside their mobile car wash and detail, disinfection, tire changing and other mobile maintenance services. “Delivering convenient, trusted, professional, and green car care directly to our customers is what Spiffy is all about,” said Spiffy VP of Marketing, Grayson Leverenz. “SparkCharge aligns beautifully with our values and helps us delight our customers with outstanding EV charging experiences. We are excited to be on this journey with them.”

“The wait and see approach to consumer demand for EV charging is no longer viable for companies in the automotive world. Some major automotive and service provider companies still don’t have a plan for EV charging. I truly believe that mobile, on-demand charging will grow the EV market exponentially. This is just the start of the charging revolution. We’re building amazing programs that utilize BoostEV with large OEMs, utilities, fleet, hospitality, and several other industries,” said Aviv. “Being involved with great companies like Allstate Roadside, Spiffy and others means that our BoostEV service will be a fast-growing, green staple for EV drivers for years to come.”

    About SparkCharge:

SparkCharge was founded in 2017 by CEO Joshua Aviv, with the goal of building and growing the world’s largest mobile electric vehicle charging network. This network is now a reality due to three key factors: hardware, software, and partnerships. The Roadie Charging System is a portable, powerful, modular charging solution that makes DC fast charging possible anywhere regardless of infrastructure. The app BoostEV allows EV drivers to request a charge delivery right to their vehicle. SparkCharge partners then provide on-demand charging as requested on BoostEV via the Roadie Charging System, the world’s only portable charging network.
