    What is bio content and why 2026 might be its breakout year.

    I believe 2026 will be the year of “bio content”, a.k.a. human generated content, as opposed to AI slop. And I’m willing to bet on this.

    As of now, the first official video of my YouTube channel is live. Unsurprisingly, my channel is called @bio-content, and this first video explains a little my intuition (which, again, may or may not be true) and what type of content you can see on that channel. Kind of an introduction.

    Why Bio Content Matters

    Think about what happened with food. Genetic engineering gave us abundance—cheap produce, available everywhere, year-round. But it came at a cost. We got “cardboard vegetables”: always available but tasteless. Now people pay premium prices for bio produce. Not because it’s more efficient, but because it’s authentic, real.

    The same shift is coming for content. AI can generate infinite text, images, and videos. The internet is already overloaded with it. But as abundance rises, so does the need for authenticity. Bio content isn’t about fighting AI—it’s about offering something AI can’t replicate: genuine human experience.

    How to Spot the Real Content

    How do you tell bio content from AI slop? In the video, I share three markers that distinguish authentic, human-generated content: a human face, verifiable time online, and a story. These aren’t random criteria. They’re the elements that remain hard to fake at scale, especially over time.

    The Shovel Sellers

    There’s also another pattern worth noting. During the gold rush, very few prospectors struck gold. But the people selling shovels and sieves? They made consistent money. The same dynamic will play out with AI. Few will succeed leveraging AI directly – specifically because of the sheer abundance and crushing competition. But those who share their authentic journey—the shovel sellers of bio content—will generate lasting value.

    What to Expect from the Channel

    The @bio-content channel will focus on three main topics this year: financial resilience, location independence, and meaningful relationships. These aren’t theoretical frameworks. I’ve been location-independent for 15 years, survived multiple financial resets, and learned hard lessons about what makes relationships work. Bio content, for me, means sharing that lived experience directly—without any AI embellishing.

    Will bio content actually take off? I don’t really know. This is a bet, I don’t have a magic crystal ball. But the pattern feels familiar.     Once all three work Willington says, “just spend more on ads.” Today, he spends five figures a day doing exactly that.

    Lesson 3: Trust Your Gut When Hiring

    As the business scaled, so did the stakes of hiring. Willington uses just two filters:

    1. Can you do the job?
    2. Do I trust you?

    The second matters more. “If the problem is in the bank account, the solution is in a spreadsheet,” he says. “If the problem is the person, the answer is in your gut.”

    Experience taught him that humans are far better at reading each other than they realize and that ignoring early intuition is expensive. “I’ve had bad gut feelings I ignored,” he says. “And I was dead right months later.”

    Lesson 4: Keep It Playful or You’ll Burn Out

    Despite the discipline, Willington isn’t rigid. In fact, playfulness is a core part of his performance. “My best work has always come when I’m playful,” he says. From DJing in his early career to writing ads and designing offers, fun has been a signal not a distraction.

    His full time coach Zach Welch later confirmed it: playfulness sits just before flow.“For me, the balance between play and challenge is where I do my best work,” Willington says.

    Lesson 5: Identity Drives Outcomes

    At the same time his business was growing, something else was accelerating, his drinking. “As we made more money, I just had more disposable income,” Willington says. “I was drinking four or five nights a week. A bottle of tequila at a time.” 

    “If you draw the trend line forward, there’s no good ending.” So he quit drinking completely. Within days, the effect was dramatic. “After four days, I remember thinking, ‘I can think clearly again.’” But the real shift wasn’t physiological, it was identity-based.

    To make sobriety stick, Willington replaced his wardrobe, changed his morning routine & began martial arts training twice a day. 

    “It felt like I was putting on a costume every morning,” he says. “And that version of me didn’t drink.” The business followed the identity, not the other way around.

    There are times in life when the continent of certainty parts underfoot and, as the ash cloud of the old world rains darkness upon us, we are asked to swim in the rivers of lava that will make the new. “Almost it would appear that it is useless in such confusion to ask,” wrote Virginia Woolf of such times, “those questions as to what, and why, and wherefore.” Unlike her staunchly secularized contemporaries, who shuddered to speak of the soul for fear of being seen as anti-intellectual, Woolf devoted her life to communicating from and with “all these wayward parts that constitute the human soul,” which she knew lives on a level deeper than the self to make us who we are. It is what is left to us and of us in those volcanic times of darkness and uncertainty. It is what rebuilds the world, within and without, and what always has. It is the world. We still use Kepler’s laws of planetary motion to land rovers on Mars, but we are yet to catch up to his model of the world as an ensouled body — a notion dating back to Plato, whose political precepts we still use and whose concept of anima mundi, or “world soul,” we are yet to heed.

    Observing that “soul navigates the twining trail between sovereignty and intimacy,” he writes:

It is an essential territory, both inevitable and required, offering a form of soul gestation that may gradually give shape to our deeper lives, personally and communally. Certain things can happen only in this grotto of darkness.     A century after Bertrand Russell called for “a largeness of contemplation” in his wonderful calibration of perspective amid the darkness of the world’s first global war, Weller writes:

    It is a time to become immense.

    To become immense means to recall how embedded we are in an animate world — a world that dreams and enchants, a world that excites our imaginations and conjures our affections through its stunning beauty. Everything we need is here. We only need to remember the wider embrace of our belonging to woodlands and prairies, marshlands, and neighborhoods, to the old stories and the tender gestures of a friend. To become immense also includes the radical act of welcoming all of who we are into the story. Nothing excluded. We become large through accepting all aspects of our being — weakness and need, loneliness and sorrow, shame and fear — everything seen as essential to our wholeness, our immensity.

    This immensity, Weller insists, is singularly called forth by precisely those periods of darkness and uncertainty we feel too small to fathom, to fight, to break through — the times when the order of the world as we know it has turned to chaos, out of which a new world can’t but be born. He writes:

    When the ordinary fades, when the familiar rhythms and patterns of shared living erode, something is activated within the soul. Hidden invitations and initiations arise in a time of uncertainty. The soul recognizes the markers of descent — darkness, sorrow, anxiety — as requiring radical change. The conditions of trouble and uncertainty activate some profound movement toward alterations in the psychic landscape. These are the precise times when the possibility for shifts in the collective field occurs.

    Emely Rumble, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with a bibliotherapy certification, says that our mind is wired for story thinking. In an interview on the Mindvalley Book Club, she explains, “When we engage with stories where we’re emotionally connected, so much has the ability to rise into our conscious awareness.”

    And when a story reaches you that deeply, it can steady you, clarify you, and sometimes start real change.

When lighting conditions are just right, however, a window can also be a mirror.

  • addTaskManager 2.6.0: Search Finally Arrives | Dragos Roua

    It’s been two months since the last release of my ADHD-friendly productivity app, addTaskManager. In app development terms, that’s either abandonment or focus.

    Well, it was focus.

    I just released addTaskManager version 2.6.0 yesterday, and the reason for this delay is simple: you can now search your tasks.

    Search Wasn’t There Before

    I know. A task manager without search sounds like a car without wheels. But here’s how I got there.

    When I built addTaskManager around the ADD framework (Assess, Decide, Do), the whole point was reducing cognitive load. You just reduce your workload to three realms, with clear separation of concerns: evaluate in Assess, plan in Decide and execute in Do. The structure and orientation were basically built in.

    The theory was: if everything has its place, you don’t need search. You just go to the place.

    But in practice you accumulate a lot of stuff. Sometimes I have more than 200-300 items in sight, spread over 3 realms. Scrolling through a realm looking for that one task you vaguely remember creating last Tuesday? That’s not reduced cognitive load. That’s frustration.

    So I finally built search. And I took the time to build it properly.

    Search From Anywhere, Travel to Anything

    Here’s how it works now.

    You can trigger search from anywhere in the app. Type what you’re looking for and the results appear across all your data types: tasks, projects, subtasks, ideas, everything, grouped by realm (with icons and color significance).

    Tap a result, and the app navigates to it. Not just shows it overlaid in the current screen. It actually travels there.

    You see the realm tab highlight and the top level realm screen opens. It then navigates to the second level, where the task / project is located. For example, in Decide it can go from top level realm screen, to Undecided project list, then to the project subtasks lists, then to the specific subtask you just selected. When the item appears, it’s selected and highlighted, with action buttons ready. I find this UX almost soothing, a smooth travel from “I want this” to “here it is”.

    And I call it “traveling animation” because that’s what it feels like. You’re not just finding something. You’re following the app as it takes you from the top of the hierarchy to the exact item you wanted: realm → data type → item with action buttons visible.

    The Free Tier Gets 10x More Room

    While I was deep in search building, I also looked at the free tier limits.

    And honestly, they were too tight. People were hitting the paywall before they even had a chance to really test whether the ADD framework works for them.

    So I increased the limits by 10x.

    That’s right: ten times more tasks, more ideas, more room to actually use this thing before deciding if it’s worth paying for.

    The rationale behind this decision: if the app really helps you, you’ll want to support it. Not because you ran out of space, but because you found something that works for you.

    And if it doesn’t help you, you shouldn’t be paying anyway.

    Stability Stuff

    A few fixes that you won’t notice because that’s the point:

    • There was a crash that could happen when searching and navigating quickly. Fixed.
    • The keyboard wasn’t lifting search results properly on some devices. Fixed.
    • Tab bar sizing was off on iPad and Mac. Fixed.
    • Badge indicators on realm tabs weren’t showing. Now they’re back.
    • All the search and sharing features are now fully localized in every supported language.

    Why Two Months?

    Building search properly takes time. There are many things to consider and overlapping this with the structure of the ADD framework was an extra challenge.

    I think I could have shipped a basic search in two weeks. But then I chose to ship a good one in two months.

    Whether that was the right call, I don’t know. Indie app economics say ship fast and iterate. My gut said get this right because people will use it constantly.

    We’ll see.
