Armentano: Marijuana potency warrants more education, regulation – The Cannabist

    [ad_1]

Those offering dire warnings about the alleged dangers of so-called “highly potent pot” — and demanding that these products be recriminalized — are taking their cues from an age-old playbook.

From the onset of criminal cannabis prohibition, criminalization advocates have sought to rationalize their position by greatly exaggerating the supposed strength of marijuana. In the 1930s, while lobbying for the passage of the first-ever federal ban on cannabis, Bureau of Narcotics Commissioner Henry Anslinger testified to Congress that the marijuana of a century ago was so uniquely potent that it was “entirely the monster Hyde, the harmful effect of which cannot be measured.”

In an attempt to justify the marijuana crackdown of the 1980s, former Los Angeles Police Chief Daryl F. Gates opined that advanced growing techniques had increased the potency of THC, the primary psychoactive ingredient in the plant, to the point that “those who blast some pot on a casual basis … should be taken out and shot.”

    Sherbert Cake strain negative reactions

It’s tough to weigh out the pros and cons of any strain, especially when they’re as impressive as the Sherbert Cake strain; however, there are a few drawbacks to it.

For one: you’ll likely not be able to get enough of it. It’s great.

Sure, you’ll get dry, red eyes from time to time, and perhaps your mouth might be as dry as a Jimmy Carr joke, but that’s all manageable.

A couple of preemptive drinks and eye drops should sort that out.

If you can endure the cottonmouth and mad-munchies, it will probably be the couch lock that gets you.

Sherb Cake weed strain defines the phrase “stoned,” making your limbs feel heavy and incredibly sluggish, especially for novice smokers, so take it easy, Hotshot.

    Sharklato strain negative reactions

As with all weed strains, there are minor drawbacks; however, if weighing the pros and the cons, the pros tip the scales.

However, there are some things to consider with Sharklato.

First of all, a rapper made it, so don’t expect some calm, child’s-play strain. Smoke in moderation and consciously.

Some users have reported an overwhelming sense of tingling, and possibly even occasional twitching, though this is often the case when many cannabis newcomers

Also, expect red eyes, dry mouth, and thirst.

    Growing the Sharklato strain

One of the pleasures of growing cannabis is the diverse variety of seeds available. It’s easy to find a strain that meets your specific needs.

Sharklato strain aims to do just that by providing smokers with not only a delightful,  flavorsome smoke but also long-lasting effects.

Sharklato strain info suggests growing it in a warm, humid environment with good ventilation.

Your plant will greatly benefit from regular pruning, and due to its pungent nature, carbon filters will greatly reduce the smell indoors, especially if you’re trying to maintain a low profile.

    Sharklato strain genetics

Sharklato strain genetics come from a long line of well-known, and well-respected strains. This lineage is likely the reason for the Sharklato strain price.

You’re not paying for a nugget. You’re paying for the whole family tree. Parent strains, Gelato and Zkittlez, are recognized worldwide, and for a good reason.

Zkittles strain is a powerful herb that has spawned a buffet of other strains over the years due to its rich flavor and high THC content to match.

Its zesty, fruitfulness is all thanks to its parents, Grapefruit and Grape Ape. On the other hand, the Gelato strain gave Sharklato a lot more than just half its name.

It also handed down its rich earthy aroma and sweet hints of berry, cherry, and wood – not to mention much of its potent effects.

Is the Jealousy strain Indica or Sativa?

Jealousy strain presents one of those rare instances where the high it serves is just as balanced as the genetic ratio it’s made up of.

A great deal of thought went into formulating Jealousy strain genetics.

As a balanced hybrid of 50% indica to 50% sativa, the cultivators at Seed Junky Genetics have proved once again why they are masters of their craft.

    Jealousy strain genetics

Jealousy strain’s parents are the type of strains that cause weed strain jealousy. Perhaps that’s how it got its name?

Both Gelato #41 and Sherbert are known for their decadence and heavenly highs and would make any stoner green with envy. Fortunately, stoners share.

Gelato #41 is a hybrid strain created by merging Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies with Sunset Sherbert.

The result is irresistible and potent all at once as it comes out swinging with a THC level in the mid-20s.

Sherbert, also known as Sunset Sherbert, is an indica dominant strain that is powerful in both effect and fragrance.

Its flavor is a mouth-watering decadence that gave it its name. You know the Jealousy cannabis strain came from the best with genetics like these.

    Jealousy strain grow info

Being the new kid on the block,  Jealousy strain info is still limited, especially in regards to growing.

    Growing Jealousy marijuana plant indoors
    Growing Jealousy strain indoors

However, you can expect more info soon as Jealousy strain seeds are readily available and can be grown from cuttings if you’re in contact with the right grower.

Jealousy strain produces plants that grow to medium size with bright green foliage and olive-colored nuggets.

    Sunset Sherbet Strain

    • 85% Indica 15% Sativa
    • THC levels up to 21%
    • Fun grow with above-average yields
    • Great for relaxation and unwinding

Subtle tones of purple are visible, just barely glowing through the thick coating of white trichomes and tentacle-like amber hairs.

Your plants can be grown indoors or out and benefit greatly from occasional pruning to maximize light coverage.

Expect a pungent scent while growing, so investing in carbon filters may be a wise choice, especially if you intend to grow with discretion.

Need help getting started? Check out our grow guide to find out how you can get the most out of your plants.

    Growing Jealousy strains outdoors

Jealousy strain may be a hybrid, yet it seems to display many indica-like qualities – especially in terms of its growing habits.

    big jealousy marijuana strain
    Huge Jealousy marijuana strain

You’ll notice this by its short to medium growing height. Based on this, most indica-based plants thrive outdoors and tend to prefer warm, humid environments.

However, consider occasional pruning to increase airflow and reduce the risk of mildew or mold.

    Jealousy strain flowering time

The average flowering time for the Jealousy weed strain is around 9 – 10 weeks. Outdoor growers can expect a harvest around the middle of October

    Jealousy strain yield

With considerable care and attention, Jealousy strain yields can be worth the wait.

Growers average around 1-1.5 ounces per square foot or 1.9-2.5 ounces per plant for outdoor growers.

As the popularity of the Jealousy cannabis strain increases, so does the demand.

But with demand comes more growers, which will inevitably impact the Jealousy Strain price – hopefully for the better.

    Jealousy strain effects

Just like the emotion, Jealousy strain effects can be felt almost immediately, except these feelings are far more inviting.

Relax as jealousy flows through your body like a wave, culminating with a cerebral high that feels like a dream state

This euphoric head-high is followed by a surge of energy and focus, nudging you to take on a creative project or to get outdoors and appreciate nature at its finest.

The peak eventually dissipates into a calm and relaxed body buzz, easing the stress out of your muscles yet not throwing you into the grasping clutches of couchlock.

Many people have relied on the calming properties of the Jealousy cannabis strain to soothe their discomforts – including chronic stress, anxiety, insomnia, mood swings, nausea, or appetite issues.

The benefits of Jealousy strain far outweigh the drawbacks of dry mouth and thirst, dry, red eyes, and relentless munchies.

smoking weed and enjoying the flavor
    Smoking weed

Remember, the Jealousy weed strain can often have a very high THC level which may cause those with a low THC tolerance to experience mild anxiety or paranoia.

And as with most things, having too much in excess may leave you green – and not with envy.

    Flavors & smell

Jealousy strain’s genetics include some of the most irresistibly flavored strains on record, so the flavor and fragrance are bound to be out of this world.

It’s got a rich, sweet scent interlaced with citrus and diesel and a heavy pungency that is tough to keep low-key.

The flavor is akin to gelato and candy, carrying a rich earthy tone and a notable presence of citrus thanks to the Limonene terpenes within it.

Caryophyllene lends a spiciness and powerful anti-inflammatory and calming effects

    FAQs about the Jealousy strain

What strains have jealousy as a parent?

Jealousy is still a relatively new strain, so a detailed record of child strains is not ready – yet… However, Seed Junky has invented a few, most notably Jealousy crossed with The Banana Creme Cake. As more Jealousy strain seeds get acquired, more variations will emerge.

    Is Jealousy strain soothing?

Jealousy strain has incredible benefits for people with high levels of stress or tension. It may also help with pain and tension headaches.

  • The 6 best strains for Virgo season

The 6 best strains for Virgo season

    [ad_1]

Whether you’re astrologically dialed in or not, when Virgo season arrives, so does the subtle urge to re-organize your stash box, scrub out all your glass, and finally toss out those empty doob-tubes and pop-top plastics littering your stone zone. Such is the energy that this mutable earth sign delivers.

Virgo season runs from August 22 to September 22 and heralds both summer’s final stretch and the onset of fall. That warm-to-cool crossover is an apt metaphor for the dichotomy of this astrological sign — the Virgo signifies both stoic rigidity and maternal warmth. It’s a strong back-to-school energy that may not be universally loved but is frankly valuable all year-round.

For all cannaisseurs, not only those who are astrologically inclined, Virgo season can be the perfect time to explore those complex, magnetic, and virtuous qualities afforded to Virgos, from organized usefulness and expressive introversion to galaxy-brain problem-solving. If you can get your hands on the right cultivar, of course.

Take advantage of Virgo season by passing both joints and well-intentioned judgments with one of these notable strains that, in their own way, embody the best of the celestial virgin known as Virgo.

Navigate the cannabis universe with the Weedmaps app

    818 OG

For those looking to cushion the stiff, type-A vibes of Virgo season without sacrificing focus, 818 OG might be worth a sesh.

818 OG is a San Fernando Valley-bred descendant of OG Kush. Its potent indica genetics reportedly deliver a spacey, euphoric relaxation without sedating its consumers. The cannabinoid percentage typically hovers around 20%, so consider this phenotype perfect for medium to higher tolerances. 818 OG has also been reported to potentially help soothe mild pain, depression, and inflammation.

Expect a woody, medicinal aroma and a piney, almost sweet-citrus exhale.

    Big Skunk Korean

Another dense hybrid with strong indica genetics is Big Skunk Korean, a cross of Big Bud, Skunk #1, and Korean strains. This hybrid reportedly delivers creative tranquility that’s equal parts heavy stone and butterfly-weightlessness.

Consumers describe a long-lasting high that eventually collapses into a classic couch-lock, heavy-munch scenario. So, whether you need to encourage your inner Virgo towards introspection and organization or quiet your inner Virgo with nachos and a snuggie, Big Skunk Korean is essential for the Virgo season stash box.

Expect a super pungent, skunky nose and a woody-sweet exhale reminiscent of hash.

    Durban Haze

Cash in on the get-stuff-done energy of Virgo season with Durban Haze, a cultivar bred from two heavy-hitting landrace strains: Durban Poison and Haze.

This bright, energetic hybrid delivers the same effervescence, clarity, and mood-lifting effects of its parent stains, though reportedly with a softer, less abrasive edge. If focused creativity is what Virgo season demands of you, consider Durban Haze as another stash box essential of the season.

Expect a spicy-sour perfume with notes of wet forest floor and spring flowers and a complex exhale.

    Mendo Kush

Mendo Kush is a mostly balanced hybrid bred from a cross of Mendocino Purps and Purple Kush and named for the Emerald Triangle region where it was first conceived.

This cultivar is reportedly a stellar representation of a well-bred Kush strain with a euphoric head high that’s clear and bright and an ultra-soft physical relaxation. Mendo Kush is particularly perfect for Virgo season because of its reputation for quieting racing thoughts and extinguishing the more harried of those yearly back-to-school vibes.

Expect a sweet, skunky aroma and a lemony, pine-skunk exhale.

    Chrome Cake

Virgos may have a reputation for being tightly wound perfectionists, but their season can be a serious celebration, especially with a cultivar bred for euphoric calm and cashmere bliss.

Chrome Cake is bred from a cross of Pre-98 Bubba Kush, OG Kush Breath, Cookies, and a fourth mystery strain. Consumers report effects that are mollifying and mood-lifting at once, potentially resulting in a sleepy euphoria that is the precise foil to being a tightly wound perfectionist.

Expect a woody perfume with notes of honeysuckle and funky fruit and a lemon-sweet cake batter and basil exhale.

    Lemon Cheese

Virgo energy is smart, cunning, and quick to untangle everyday messes. And that’s a universally beneficial energy. Cannathusiasts can tap into that vibe via the potent sativa-forward genetics of Lemon Cheese.

Bred from Super Lemon Haze and Exodus Cheese, Lemon Cheese is a hybrid that reportedly delivers a congenial, cerebral, creative high that is both potent and long-lasting. Consumers also report this strain’s efficacy in helping quell fatigue and mood swings.

Expect the stink of sour lemon, ripe cheese, and spicy grass to linger in your nostrils and the back of your throat.

  • Wedding Crasher Strain Profile: A Mellow Hybrid Punch! | Crop King Seeds

Wedding Crasher Strain Profile: A Mellow Hybrid Punch! | Crop King Seeds

    [ad_1]

With high levels of heady euphoria balanced against a hazy body high, Wedding Crasher (a.k.a Wedding Crashers) has turned into a mainstay in smoking rotations throughout the world. Initially developed by the team at Symbiotic Genetics, Wedding Crasher’s smooth vanilla and berry notes mix for a gassy hybrid that relaxes as much as it mellows.

While considered a pretty balanced hybrid, consumption of this strain can lead individuals to succumb to late afternoon naps. You won’t be crashing any weddings, but you certainly will end up crashing on your couch!

It’s available in dispensaries around the nation and easy to cultivate through the acquisition of seeds from a reputable supplier. Let’s explore how this strain can take your home growing experience to the next level.

    Wedding Crasher Plant Genetics

More than the name of a great Vince Vaughn comedy, Wedding Crasher’s unique plant genetics create a well-rounded smoking experience for recreational and medicinal users alike. Crossbred from Purple Punch and Wedding Cake, the Crasher strain provides a mellow yet sharply euphoric high that combines the best of both its parental genetics.

Even for novice or inexperienced users, Wedding Crasher’s intensity is never too much thanks to its balanced hybrid genetics. First-time consumers will note that the strain provides a spike of energy upon the first inhalation before slowly experiencing their high taper to a calming crash.

This Wedding Cake x Purple Punch cross is considered a 70/30 sativa-dominant hybrid with THC levels hovering around the 15 to 20 percent mark.

    Key Flavors and Effects

At a glance, it can be easy to see why Wedding Crasher’s profile tends to fade into the background around other Wedding Cake hybrids. Pale green mugs give way to light orange pistils and a relatively unimpressive color scheme. The size of the plant, however, is where Crasher begins to showcase its best traits.

This strain features larger-than-average colas with intense resin production to make for potent, trichome-laden plants. When grown correctly, deep purple hues speckle amongst the vibrant greens and bright oranges. The taste of this strain is as unique and varied as its terpene profile suggests. Notes of grape and sweet vanilla overtake the tongue as a spicy finish rounds out the experience.

More than just a skunky-sweet strain with bag appeal, Crasher has a unique high driven by a terpene profile consisting of beta-caryophyllene, limonene, and alpha-humulene. As a result of this particular triumvirate of terpenes, the Crasher strain can be great for addressing mood swings, nervous thoughts, a racing mind, or even lack of motivation. This blend of relaxing and motivating terpenes makes Wedding Crashers an exciting strain to try as well as to cultivate from the comfort of home.

What drives this strain above many of its contemporaries at Crop King Seeds is its uplifting tilt and sativa-driven experiences. Wedding Crasher’s profile allows individuals to produce extra energy as they tackle the day, handle conversations with friends and family, and crush goals along the way.

    Medicinal Benefits of Wedding Crasher

Thanks to the caryophyllene-leading terpene profile and relatively modest THC levels, Wedding Crashers has turned into a popular hybrid strain for medicinal users looking to take the edge off. Brimming with natural euphoria from its Wedding Cake genetics, Crasher is beneficial in helping to relieve symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, and even stress.

Medicinally, this hybrid strain does a lot to relieve some physical sensations of sore muscles and deeper tissue pain. Soothing effects and euphoric sensations extend to the mind as the strain combats anxiety, some forms of depression, and most symptoms relating to stress.

    Ideal for addressing:

    • Chronic Pain
    • Depression
    • Anxiety
    • Inflammation

    Possible Side Effects

As with all cannabis, this strain has the potential to create dry eyes, cottonmouth, and bouts of paranoia when consumed in larger doses. All of these side effects are mild and typical of the consumption of cannabis. Novice consumers are advised to drink plenty of water while monitoring their intake level.

    Cultivating Wedding Crasher

Cultivating Crasher at home can be a joy-filled experience that ends with a large harvest after roughly nine to 10 weeks of flowering. Ideal for growth in hydroponic settings, Wedding Crashers produces sticky, resin-coated buds that can be tough to break apart.

Thanks to its hardy nature, this is a solid strain for growth by beginners and experts alike. Crasher thrives in both soil and hydroponic settings, allowing cultivators to decide how they want to approach the dynamic and hardy hybrid.

    Prioritize a Large Yield

Growing Crasher at home can take a little bit of patience as well as some extra elbow grease. Ostensibly ideal for growing both indoors and outdoors, W. Crasher needs high levels of sunlight when cultivated outside. Indoor growers should be prepared to actively trim and prune their plants throughout their lifecycle to ensure that growth is maximized.

Crasher plants will grow to just under six feet high in most grow rooms, but that doesn’t stop them from getting quite rotund and bushy. Growers will want to make a habit of properly trimming their plants while reducing humidity levels along the way because this strain is particularly beholden to mildew and pests.

Growers looking to maximize their chances at success with Wedding Crasher will do their best to grow the strain either indoors or in a more Mediterranean environment. With stable growing conditions, advanced and novice growers alike can help bring this soaring hybrid to fruition.

No matter where you decide to grow your plant, the process begins with successful germination and that requires quality seeds from a professional supplier.

    Key Growing Numbers

    • THC – 21%
    • CBD – Low
    • Height – 180-200cm
    • Growing Difficulty – Easy

As a prolific sativa-dominant hybrid strain, Wedding Crasher’s unique terpene blend provides a deep well of experience for consumers of all levels. Crasher’s terpene profile leads with caryophyllene and is buoyed by moderate levels of CBG.

  • The strains that made Blueprint Cannabis

The strains that made Blueprint Cannabis

    [ad_1]

Ya boy came across Blueprint in the first Zalympix winter competition when the brand’s Triple Lindy won Best Overall. Then, I tried Blueprint’s Item #9 and P90 at Hall of Flowers: Palm Springs in May and was once again blown away by its quality and consistency.

Being unfamiliar with Blueprint’s story, I reached out to Jordan Aguilar, the brand’s co-founder and cultivation king to talk about its history and the weed it’s known for.

Find Blueprint on the Weedmaps app

    Blueprint’s short origin story

Blueprint was co-founded by Jordan Aguilar, Joe Stanger, and Tom Sheridan. Though the brand itself has only been on the market since September 2021, the owners have decades of cannabis experience between them all. “I originally started with Collective Efforts,” said Aguilar, “which then turned into Connected Cannabis Co. Connected acquired Alien Labs, so I was the [Director of Indoor Cultivation] for Connected and Alien Labs. I started on the ground floor sweeping and cleaning and worked my way up to Director over 10 years. I’ve been in the commercial side of it for over 10 years now.”

On the name Blueprint, Aguilar shared, “I feel like we have the blueprint to the industry. It’s simple: let’s grow good weed, understand what strains, why, who we’re targeting, how it should smoke, and all these factors that people should look for when they go get weed. The foundation is cultivation. Cultivators are with the plant so much that they come up with cool ideas, good marketing, good understanding of everything. We need to highlight the cultivators. The blueprint is just to grow good weed, show what we do, show the world our art, and be consistent. Let’s roll with that name.”

These are the strains that made Blueprint.

    The strains that made Blueprint

    2014 – 2019: Gelato

When he was growing weed for Connected, Aguilar was growing a lot of Animal Cookies, Sunset Sherbert, and most importantly, all of the Gelatos — #25, #33, #41, and #45.

Gelato #41 arose as the godfather of that whole era. It’s the backbone of a lot of breeding programs. Gelato #41 taught me a lot about growing. You have to really pay attention to the plant. It was this plant that you had to nail, so it taught me a lot about how to curate a plant from A to Z.”

Gelato comes from Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint GSC. It’s known for its dessert-like flavor profile. There is a multitude of Gelato phenotypes that each have their own distinct characteristics. Those include Gelato #25, Gelato #33, Gelato #41, and Gelato #45.

    2019: Alien Labs strains

Around 2018 – 2019, Aguilar told me that he was helping grow a bunch of strains for California cannabis legend Alien Labs. Those strains include many of Alien Labs’ classics, like Do-Si-Dos, Melonade, Area #41, and Gelonade — just to name a few.

2020 – present: Triple Lindy, P90, Jesus Shuttlesworth

Blueprint’s first run of genetics included the Triple Lindy, P90, and Jesus Shuttlesworth. It worked those strains for a year before releasing them in the fall of 2021. “With our menu, we’re really cognizant of flavor profile and effects. We want to offer a wide range. Triple Lindy is super euphoric candy gas, P90 is super heavy gas OG, and the Jesus was Umami bubblegum flavors.”

On the effects, Aguilar said, “Triple’s euphoric like daytime, P90 will make you go to sleep, and Jesus Shuttlesworth is super chill.”

Triple Lindy won the first Zalympix winter competition at the top of 2022. It shows how well Blueprint grows weed if its first product launch is already winning awards amongst some of the biggest and best brands in California. On how it felt to immediately win Zalympix, Aguilar remembered, “Zalympix was especially cool as a tournament overall, the People’s Choice. It was just a bunch of consumers who bought it, smoked it, and this is what they thought. For consumers to go out and be like ‘Wow, I’ve never heard of these guys, but this is great,’ that’s super cool. We’re super blessed and super happy to be in this position that we’re in.”

2022: Item #9, Backyard Boogie, and Dr. Freeze

Some of Blueprint’s newest creations include Item #9, Backyard Boogie, and Dr. Freeze. On naming these strains, Aguilar said, “Dr. Freeze was super icy on the plant, like it was frozen. Item #9, we were like, ‘This strain is bomb ass shit.’ Item 9 was off of Pineapple Express, so that was the inspiration we took there. Backyard Boogie was a bag seed. I was in my backyard rolling up and a seed popped up. I threw it in a little succulent plant and scooped water out of my dog’s water dish. Somehow a cut showed up at the facility, we tested it out, and we were like ‘Dude, this is bomb ass shit, this is some backyard boogie.’”

Be on the lookout for anything that comes from Blueprint. If history serves as any indication of the future, they’ll be giving us a lot of fire weed for a long, long time.

The Best Strains To Try This Growing Season | Crop King Seeds

    [ad_1]

The cannabis world is experiencing constant innovation thanks to its population of dedicated strain-breeding professionals. The team at Crop King Seeds has put an intense focus on cultivating a selection of the top marijuana strains for the new growing season in 2022. If you are looking for a new strain to try in your home cannabis garden, you’ve come to the right place.

Let’s explore our top five strains for the first half of 2022 with a little support from Crop King Seeds!

    Blue Cookies

Otherwise known as Blue GSC or Blue Girl Scout Cookies, this is an indica-dominant cross between Girl Scout Cookies and Blueberry. A heavyweight in the indica-leaning hybrid community, it provides users with incredibly uplifting euphoria before swiftly sinking them into the couch with wave after wave of relaxation.

Blue Cookies is moderately potent, so it’s not for the faint of heart. Expert consumers or individuals with a high tolerance may find that this strain checks more of their boxes.

    Flavors & Effects

When you cross Blueberry and Girl Scout Cookies, you walk away with a flavorful strain dominated by notes of cherry and sweet berry. The bud itself is traditionally coated in frosty resin and speckled with hues of purple and green.

When grown using cannabis seeds from Crop King Seeds, Blue Cookie strains are brimming with waves of undulating euphoria and relaxing effects. Wave after wave of focus and happiness will bring users to a giggly high that’s great for combating symptoms related to depression or anxiety.

Blue GSC is also highly regarded by consumers thanks to its ability to calm muscle tension while reducing symptoms associated with tremors and chronic pain. Considered a more well-rounded high than other indica options on most menus, Blue Cookies can make a hike outdoors sparkle or turn a movie at home into the ultimate experience.

    Growing Information

Blue GSC is a strain that thrives when grown by experienced handlers. Best grown indoors, BC is easier to manage when its temperature, climate, and humidity can be controlled. This strain thrives between 70 and 74 degrees Fahrenheit and matures into a moderately small plant, making it an ideal choice for indoor cultivators.

Thanks to the broad fan leaves of the plant, pruning with relative consistency is of utmost importance. Making sure the plant stays trimmed will help the yield prosper, ensuring that all of the bud sites receive the light and air they need. Growers will also want to provide support during the flowering stage to prevent these heavy, stocky plants from tipping over.

The average THC content for this cookie strain is between 20 and 26 percent.

    Purple Kush

Purple Kush is a powerful indica strain that first emerged in Oakland, California as a bountiful cross between Purple Afghani and Hindu Kush. Now, this popular Kush strain can be obtained through marijuana seeds for sale by Crop King Seeds, bringing potent and long-lasting relaxation to any grower’s front door.

Known for its waves of relaxing effects, Purple Kush was named one of the Top 10 strains of all time by the illustrious team of writers at High Times in 2016. Bred directly from pure landrace genetics, PK has plenty to offer in both style and substance.

    Flavors & Effects

At a glance, Purple Kush pops off of the page with deep purple hues twisting through an orange and green bud structure. This dark and distinctive strain overloads consumers with earthy and berry undertones that bring to mind candy, wine, and even grapes.

As a pure indica strain, PK is deeply relaxing with a full-body effect that leaves you feeling like you are wearing a weighted blanket. While sedation and relaxation are keyed in on by advanced consumers, everyone will notice their stress levels ease after consuming Purple Kush. Giggly and relaxed, this is a dynamic strain by Crop King Seeds.

    Growing Information

Not intrinsically easy to grow, Purple Kush is a strain best left to experienced growers. This plant stays low to the ground throughout its growth cycle, making it important to maintain proper trimming practices. Low-lying leaves can quickly become victim to a lack of light if trimming isn’t performed regularly.

Better grown indoors where it can be kept at consistent humidity and temperature levels, Purple Kush is resistant to pests. The strain will flower within eight weeks, which is much shorter than other similar strains, leading to an overall indoor yield of 15 ounces per meter squared.

    Wedding Crasher

Otherwise known as Wedding Crashers, this is a hybrid strain grown from the crossbreeding of Purple Punch and Wedding Cake. With sharp gassy notes counterbalanced by sweet grape and smooth vanilla, Wedding Crashers is one of the top marijuana seeds for sale to individuals with dynamic and varied taste palettes.

Wedding Crashers is deeply relaxing and downright spacey, which can make it the perfect afternoon or evening smoke to bring down stress levels while relaxing to the point of sedation. This strain is generally credited to the team at Symbiotic Genetics, though Crop King Seeds carries cannabis seeds for home growers.

    Flavors & Effects

While known for its work as a balanced hybrid, Wedding Crasher’s unique traits become clear when users inhale it off the bud or from freshly ground marijuana. The Purple Punch genetics bring about fruity notes that are balanced by the sweet and caky vanilla of Wedding Cake. Bringing together a mildly sweet strain with a bit of fruit on the exhale, Wedding Crasher is palatable for most.

This strain produces a strong high that straddles the line between stony and couch-locked. The legacy indica genetics keep it mostly cerebral with a slightly invigorating undertone. Ideal for use throughout the day and even at night, Wedding Crashers provides a clear-headed and cerebral high.

    Growing Information

With a flowering period of eight to nine weeks, Wedding Crasher features THC levels up to 23 percent during most grows. A long-lasting high gives users equal parts energy and relaxation with harvests surpassing 22 ounces per plant.

Grown well in both soil and hydroponic environments, growers must be ready to manage broad fan leaves through consistent trimming. The plant can grow up to six feet in height with a rounded bushy body. Ideally, growers will keep humidity levels between 40 and 60 percent.

    Banana Punch

Known as a remarkably balanced hybrid strain, Banana Punch is the delicate crossing of Purple Punch and Banana OG. Sedating when consumed in even small quantities, Banana Punch puts consumers on their back feet as the high takes over in a rapidly accelerated yet creeping manner.

    Flavors & Effects

A first glance at Banana Punch will leave growers impressed by the dark green leaves and bright orange pistils. Following the color scheme of the bud structure, this hybrid strain is known for its tropical flavor with notes of berries, bananas, haze, and fresh-cut pineapple. As pretty to grow as it is to smell, this banana strain will leave you relaxed with a loose smile and lack of anxiety.

With limonene as its dominant terpene, Banana Punch tends to make individuals feel equal parts happy and relaxed as a tingle overtakes the rest of the body. It’s ideal for treating symptoms associated with appetite problems, stress, and anxiety.

    Growing Information

With a flowering period between 40 and 50 days, Banana Punch offers an abbreviated growing season for novice and experienced cultivators alike. Breeders find this strain to be particularly easy to grow because it provides elevated yields despite an abridged flowering phase.

Growers can find Banana Punch marijuana seeds for sale at Crop King Seeds. This strain is ideal for both indoor and outdoor growing environments.

  • Looking Back: 4/20 With Rubi Rose and Plant Galaxy

Looking Back: 4/20 With Rubi Rose and Plant Galaxy

    [ad_1]

If you’re a stoner like me, you’re probably looking forward to one day out of the entire year: 4/20. The official holiday for marijuana lovers across the world, April 20th marks the day that everyone celebrates the flower and all its beauty. In fact, true cannabis connoisseurs and lovers are most likely celebrating all month long.

    The History of 420

So where exactly did 4/20 originate? Well, there are a couple of theories. One tale goes, back in 1971, a group of 5 high school students in San Rafael, California embarked on an adventure to find an abandoned cannabis crop, using the term “4:20” as their code. Their meeting time? 4:20pm. While they never found the crop, 4:20pm eventually became the universal term for consuming cannabis.

Other theories include 420 being the police or penal code for marijuana in California, although there’s been no evidence to support this claim. Another is that there 420 active chemicals in the flower… which would be great if it were true. There’s actually roughly 500 compounds in marijuana.

Long story short, April 20th is a celebratory day for the cannabis industry as a whole, oftentimes marked by fun events and parties, legalization protesting, big discounts in dispensaries, and unforgettable moments within the community. With over 18 states legalizing marijuana in the country, it’s only right for brands or dispensaries to give back to the consumers that support them.

    Plant Galaxy Dispensary Celebrates 4/20

For Plant Galaxy, a dispensary in Riverside, California located at 1270 Center Street, they had the pleasure of booking one of the biggest female artists of our generation: Rubi Rose. Boasting 3.6 million followers on Instagram alone, Rubi went viral after releasing her breakout single “Big Mouth,” proving she can rap as well as her peers. With undeniable beauty, Rubi is an inspiration to females all around the world that they too can make their wildest dreams come true.

Arriving at the shop on 4/20 was an adventure in itself. The line was out the door for the entirety of the day, with this year’s 4/20 falling on a beautiful Wednesday where the weather was unmatched. Deemed “the down-to-earth cannabis shop,” Plant Galaxy’s website reads:

“If you’re looking for recreational cannabis and CBD goods, Plant Galaxy Dispensary offers a progressive menu paired with neighborly service. Whether you are new to the cannabis world or have vast experience, our team is happy to help guide your journey to improved wellness. For unparalleled services across Riverside, Moreno Valley, Grand Terrace, Colton and Highgrove, CA, Plant Galaxy Dispensary is the best choice for your cannabis needs.”

Centrally located, Plant Galaxy is the one-stop shop for flower, pre-rolls, edibles, and beverages, with free parking and an on-site ATM. The stage, set up right outside the shop, allowed for local acts to display their talents as consumers came to enjoy the festivities, with tacos and beverages readily available for purchase.

Rubi Rose arrived in the early evening and took the stage to perform two songs: “He In His Feelings” and “Big Mouth,” before entering the shop to do an exclusive Meet & Greet with fans. With 4/20 energy in the air, this was truly a holiday to be remembered for years on.

Wiz Khalifa Hosts Exclusive Wiz & Friends x Knights Gaming Event In Los Angeles

    [ad_1]

In the world of cannabis and music, Wiz Khalifa prevails as one of the pioneers of stoner rap. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the rapper has since exploded into one of the biggest artists of our generation, constantly creating timeless music for his ever growing fanbase. His 2010 Kush and Orange Juice mixtape alone will forever go down in history as one of the best projects from the modern era of Hip Hop.

    Smoking Weed and Working Out

Boasting 38.3 million followers on Instagram alone, Wiz Khalifa carries immense influence in the culture, always pushing forth hard work, dedication, and positivity any chance he can. In fact, if you’re at all tapped with Wiz on socials, you’ll see he’s recently found a newfound love for the gym, working out for 2 to 3 hours every morning, from Monday to Friday.

Whiz Khalifa is known for incorporating cannabis into his photo credit

Wiz’s longtime bodyguard, Miles Saunders, states:

“To me, it’s made him more of a stronger man, because he’s focused always. His discipline is strong. He encourages you as a person to take the value of your health seriously. It’s helped me as an older person. When you’re older, you’re like “oh I’m cool, I’m cool.” But you see him pushing himself, it’s like damn bro, I’m with you every day. I have to push too.”

Which raises the question… does Wiz workout high?? Of course he does. Saunders continues, “He’s a real stoner. Some people are stoners and some people are real stoners. He’s dedicated. It won’t stop him. Anywhere we go, he works out. Anywhere. Some people are dedicated and some people are really dedicated. He’s really dedicated. He boxes everyday. He’s a hell of a fighter but it’s personal. Some things you keep to yourself.”

    Wiz & Friends Gaming Event

On a beautiful Thursday in Los Angeles, Wiz Khalifa hosted his third ever Wiz & Friends gaming event at The Bakerie in Los Angeles. Going from 3pm to 8pm, the festivities were live streamed on both Twitch and YouTube, as over 3000 fans tuned in to play the game with Wiz’ esports gaming team Pittsburgh Knights — essentially a group of Wiz’ closest friends who he likes to spend his time with.

Of course, Taylor Gang was in the building, along with endless weed smoke, catered food, drinks from Crafthouse Cocktails, and nothing short of good energy. With anything Wiz does, he always tries to break down barriers and push boundaries, a true trendsetter in every aspect of the word. With the recent surge of people trying to enter the Web3 world, it’s no surprise Wiz is constantly ahead of the curve, even being an investor in the Pittsburg Knights.

Present on site were the limited edition Khalifa Kush x Nugg Club boxes, equipped with his own KK weed strain, pre-rolls, and a limited edition Santa Cruz x Taylor Gang grinder, tray, and lighter. Only a couple hundred boxes were made, selling out almost instantly.

DJ Saul, CEO of Khalifa Kush, states:

“The connective thread between everything here is obviously the love of cannabis. That’s what brings people together more than anything. It’s what the world needs right now, so that’s what everyone’s here for. For Wiz, all you have to do is follow him on Instagram to see how it fuels him creatively day in and day out.”

    Wiz’s Cannabis Company Khalifa Kush

While Khalifa Kush has technically been around for a few years now, the brand recently launched in California where the genetics and story originated. Saul explains, “We took our time to make sure we lined up the right partners to bring it to the market in the right way. California officially dropped in January and has been growing quickly. We launched Oregon 3 weeks ago, are launching Michigan in June, and have Florida coming later this year. Our team is mostly split between LA and Pittsburgh, but we’ll be expanding the team alongside our national growth throughout the year.”

Luckily, KK has been receiving nothing but positive feedback, making it even more special that consumers are able to purchase the same weed they’d been seeing Wiz smoking for years and years and years. KK is a hybrid, classic OG. Saul states, “Technically it’s indica leaning, but it won’t put you to sleep, and is great for both day and night, which is part of what makes it so special.”

    The Bakerie Dispensary

With Wiz Khalifa living in Los Angeles, it was only right he did this event at The Bakerie in downtown LA. A more traditional brand, The Bakerie came from the black market before going legal, bringing their hip-hop friends with them. While the average person in the streets gets excited when they see a celebrity, a celebrity is excited when they see the weed man — which is exactly what The Bakerie encompasses.

Peter Sobat, founder of The Bakerie, states, We love video games here, it’s something that we do daily. We start our day with video games, we end our day with video games, with large amounts of cannabis in between. Of course Wiz and I, and the whole Taylor Gang crew, we go back many, many moons. Because I’m originally from Pittsburgh. Literally anything we can do for the city while we’re here in LA, we try to do it. I’m blessed and pleased that they chose our venue to do this event.”

At the end of the, cannabis and music are synonymous. Sobat continues, “The best time to listen to music is when you’re stoned. Most of my favorite artists create in the studio while they’re smoking. It’s so easy to get music and weed together because it’s like peanut butter and jelly, chocolate and peanut butter. Anything in general with peanut butter goes good.”

    Wrap Up

For those who missed the livestream, be sure to check back in next year as they are turning this into an annual series.

Boston Chinatown restaurant served up multimillion dollar money laundering operation, feds say – The Cannabist

    [ad_1]

At least one restaurant in Boston’s Chinatown had a scandalous secret menu, according to a recent federal indictment — a multi-state money laundering operation.

A federal grand jury in Boston indicted eight alleged members of the conspiracy that the feds — which investigated it under the moniker “Operation Good Fortune” — say funneled tens of millions of dollars in drug money and more in a gift card fraud scheme.

“Drug trafficking and money laundering go hand in hand,” said Joseph Bonavolonta, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston office, “and this crew is accused of using their family-owned restaurant in Chinatown as a front for an elaborate, international money laundering scheme and money transmitting business in which they conducted tens of millions of dollars in off the books transactions to circumvent our country’s laws, and hide the source of their income.”

  • Drying and Curing Cannabis FAST: An Easy Guide | Crop King Seeds

Drying and Curing Cannabis FAST: An Easy Guide | Crop King Seeds

    [ad_1]

Cannabis isn’t known as a “weed” without reason. Whether carefully tended by hand in a controlled environment or cast to the wind by nature itself, marijuana finds ways to continue thriving. With that being said, if you are aiming to cultivate and control your cannabis production, then you must come to terms with the drying and curing process.

A critical post-harvest element, to dry and cure your cannabis is to prepare it for consumption, dramatically improving the quality and taste of your bud. Let’s explore this system together as we learn the best methods for drying and curing cannabis fast.

    Following Your Harvest: Drying Marijuana

Planning for what will happen after you harvest your crop is almost as important as raising the crop itself. Drying and curing are the methods that follow the cultivation of your plant, preparing the buds to maximize their potency during consumption at a later stage.

Drying as a process will occur after a plant has been harvested when the newly-cut plants are still brimming with moisture. To help stave off this moisture-laden process, cultivators will hang their plants upside down while cutting the flowers off to reduce the overall moisture in the plant.

Once the plants have completely dried, the cultivators will trim the buds before storing them in containers to prevent the loss of aroma and flavor.

Traditionally, the drying process can take between two and seven days, though the process can be shortened during wet trimming. When there is less plant material to dry, the entire process can be sped up.

    Creating Your Dry Room

Establishing a valid post-harvest curing room can be pivotal to the overall success of your crop. The amount of overall space you will need depends on the style of cure that you plan to pursue. There are several different methods that you can employ when it comes time to dry your marijuana or hemp plants.

No matter what drying method you plan to use, consider pulling together the following pieces of equipment for the dry room of your garden.

    • Hanging rack
    • Hygrometer (to track humidity and temperature)
    • Fan (for air circulation)
    • Air conditioning
    • Dehumidifier
    • Trimming scissors

Now that we have our tools collected, we can begin harvesting the plants that will be dried. There are a few different techniques we can employ to maximize the efficiency of the drying and curing process, beginning with how we approach the delicate buds.

    Manual Trim / Dry

If you want to speed up the drying process, put in some groundwork with your own two hands. Manually trim your plant by removing the fan leaves before hanging the buds out to dry. As these fan leaves retain plenty of water, their removal should help to reduce the humidity levels of the room. Removing leaves can also help to prevent mold from forming.

Working with manual trimmers will allow you the kind of accuracy and sensitivity that trimming machines cannot mimic, leading to an overall cleaner and better product. However, this hands-on experience requires time, patience, and effort.

    Brown Paper Bags

Did you know that you could undergo the drying process with brown paper bags? Cut and trim your buds into roughly popcorn-sized chunks. Trim everything down to a manageable size before placing the weed inside of your paper bags. Leave the bags roughly halfway filled to allow for air circulation. The brown bags should be placed in a dry and temp-controlled room.

    Agriculture Trimming Machine

If speed is the name of the game, then an automatic trimming machine might be the best way to go. Automated trimming machines are ideal when the goal is to speed up how long it takes to dry and cure your cannabis.

However, automatic trimming machines are much harsher on your plants, causing the loss of THC-drenched pistils as well as bruised, damaged, and battered buds. For all-natural growers, avoid using a trimming machine unless the situation demands it.

A trimming machine can speed up the drying process by dramatically reducing the level of moisture that your plant must contend with.

    Hang to Dry

After having been trimmed, your freshly harvested cannabis must be placed in a well-ventilated, dark, and temperature-controlled room where it can be suspended to dry. Avoid humidity and moisture in your drying environment while also preventing exposure to any natural or artificial light. Light exposure at this stage of the game could lead to bleached buds, ruined colors, and lessened taste.

This process can take upwards of three to four weeks depending on your plant, the style of your grow, and your gardening environment.

    Curing Your Cannabis

Once our marijuana has been trimmed and dried, it is time to finish off the process by curing. This is a vital postharvest step that adds to the overall quality and smokability of your plants. Once you’ve completed the harvesting of your marijuana, as well as the removal of its moisture, it is time to begin curing.

To cure your cannabis, you will need airtight Mason jars or other glass jars that can be heated in an oven to kill any potential bacteria. Once devoid of bacteria, you can place your dried bud into the container. Remember any moisture in the container can turn into mold or a bacterial infection at a later time.

Avoid Ziploc bags as they are much more likely to retain high levels of moisture, thus hindering the curing process.

    Tips for Curing Weed

At this point, we are in the home stretch of the harvest. To properly cure your weed and generate an amazing final product spanning seeds, germination, and harvest, you’ll need some patience.

Curing can take anywhere from 14 to 30 days.

    1. Make Sure Your Weed is Dry: Weed that is still rich in moisture will quickly begin to turn due to bacterial infections and mold. Check your weed several times before placing it in its final container.
    2. Perform Regular Inspections: Get into the habit of checking your jars daily. Roughly a third of the jar’s space should be left empty. Gently shake each container to ensure the buds are not stuck together.
    3. Open Jars Every Three Days: Make sure to properly burp your weed during the process. Open all of your jars periodically, roughly once every two to three days, to help moisture evaporate while offsetting any potential mold.

Within 14 days to a month, the weed you’ve cured should retain only roughly 5% of its moisture levels. If you cure your weed for at least six months, all of the moisture should be gone. During this process, your weed will change in color while retaining its core terpenes and cannabinoids.

Opinion: Here’s a plan for Hancock’s last year in office – do no more harm – The Cannabist

    [ad_1]

Mayor Michael Hancock was all about the future as in “our children’s future….save our future….a future full of possibilities….our bright future” in his final State of the City address. If Denver’s future is anything like the present, the past would be an improvement. There was a time when Denver was a great place to open a business, fix up an old home, or take a stroll in the park. Today’s Denver resembles the Mile High City of the late ’80s, early ’90s back when Larimer Square was an island in a sea of high-crime urban blight and people stuck to the burbs.

I remember those days fondly. Thieves broke into my car. Someone stole a dead plant and a yellow macramé off my porch because it was the only thing not nailed down. The neighbors below me were small-time drug dealers. I’m not quite sure who left the bloody handprint on the wall in the stairwell. Men came and went from the vacant house next door, the one with the toilet in the yard and the boarded-up windows. Panhandlers were not terribly reserved about dropping trow to do their business in sight of others. Happily, random gunfire was more common in my friend’s neighborhood. After a guy pulled a knife on us, we were more cautious when strolling about at night. Good times.

I’m able to relive these charming memories of Denver today while driving past dirty tents, piles of trash, stoned beggars, boarded-up windows scrawled with graffiti, a meth-addled vagrant without pants and quite hairy. Can’t unremember that. Drive-by shootings have returned. Civic Center Park was closed last year so the city could clean up the trash, rat burrows, human waste, and needles left by urban squatters. The year prior, rioters cost the city over $5 million to repair the damage they wrought downtown.

Weed delivery has yet to catch on in Denver, but government officials are pushing dispensaries to drop their resistance to save the transporter businesses of marginalized entrepreneurs.

“Delivery has not taken off in the way that we had hoped that it would,” said Molly Duplechian, Excise and Licenses Department director. “We’re hearing that they’re struggling.”

At a marijuana industry check-in meeting on Tuesday, the department proposed a bill that would permanently limit store deliveries to licensed transporters owned by social-equity applicants. Stores wouldn’t be allowed to do their own delivery.
