Apple’s latest MacBook Air (launched in March) has been among the company’s most popular laptops for some time now, but price has usually been the stumbling block. On Apple’s website, this MacBook Air with the M4 chip in its base configuration (16GB of RAM and 256GB SSD storage) starts at $999.
The new M4 chip is at the heart of it and brings faster performance across the board. For everyday use, it makes juggling multiple apps smoother and faster. But it also goes into denser ground like photo and video editing or even graphics-intensive games. On top of that, Apple’s new Intelligence features which rely on the M4 to make writing assistance, automating operations and privacy-first AI capabilities possible.
While the performance boost is significant, design is still focused on portability: Winging in at over 2.7 pounds and under half an inch thick, this MacBook Air is meant to slide into a bag and almost disappear until you need it. Battery life is another bonus with up to 18 hours on one charge. That means you really can make it through a whole workday without having to plug in. It still has the same MagSafe charging port that’s so fashionable again, plus two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 support. For extreme users, you can even connect up to two external monitors.
The screen is also somewhere where the Air does better than you might guess at this price: The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina screen displays a billion colors and has amazing brightness and contrast. Text is razor-sharp for everyday use like reading and writing. But when streaming TV shows or looking at photos, the color accuracy is actually superb.
Apple has also put major work into the camera and audio system, changes that are more vital than ever with so much of life happening on video calls. The 12MP camera with Center Stage keeps you centered and properly focused and the three-microphone array ensures voices sound loud and clear. Four built-in speakers handle audio with support for Spatial Audio, and thus music or conference calls can sound surprisingly immersive.
What should seal the deal for many is the value angle. At $999, the MacBook Air M4 is already positioned as Apple’s most balanced machine between performance and portability. But at $799 on Amazon, you’re essentially getting premium performance, build quality, and the ecosystem advantages of macOS at a price that undercuts many Windows ultrabooks with weaker specs. Throw in Amazon’s delivery speed and return policy, and it’s difficult to argue full price up front from Apple’s website at this point.
The MacBook Air has long had the reputation of being the Mac for everyday use. With the M4 chip now inside and a historic price cut dropping it under $800, the 2025 MacBook Air feels like a golden moment for upgrading.

Hello reader who is also a reader, and welcome back to Booked For The Week – the only regular Sunday chat with a selection of cool industry folks about books that has no conception of space, time, responsibility or consistency. Also, I can’t read. Still, I’m feeling confident we can get through this together. In that, I have no other choice. This week, it’s editor and author for books like Digital Love and Well Played, and writer on games like Orion Trail and Bramblewood, Heidi McDonald! Cheers Heidi! Mind if we have a nose at your bookshelf?
What are you currently reading?
Society As I Have Found It by Ward McAllister, a book mentioned a few weeks ago on HBO’s The Gilded Age which was an actual book. It’s free for download on Project Gutenberg. Lots of folks on the fan boards of the show say it’s a boring read, but as I really enjoy literature from that period (1873), I am used to that type of prose and have found it fascinating and amusing so far.
What did you last read?
Magnitude by my dear friend, Victor Jiminez. It’s his first novel, it’s great, and needs to be a sci-fi thriller movie on one of the streaming services.
What are you eyeing up next?
More of the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett because I was super late to the party on those and only just started the series last year. It’s exquisite.
What quote or scene from a book sticks with you the most?
There was a quote from Birds Without Wings by Louis Berniéres that affected me when I read it years ago and really haunts me these days: “If you listen closely, you can hear the bleating of a goat with nothing to say.” It’s like the old wise man from a Turkish village just summed up the entire internet and American politics in one sentence.
What book do you find yourself bothering friends to read?
Meeting In The Devil’s House by my friend Richard Dansky, and The Secret Lives Of Church Ladies by my friend Deesha Philyaw.
What book would you like to see someone adapt to a game?
The world in the Mortal Engines series by Philip Reeve, and of course, ANY GAME based on books from the Gilded, Edwardian, or Victorian ages because those books are my jam and I’d write the crap out of such a game.
The celebration of art and resistance in all it’s myriad, fleeting, impossibly vital forms will continue until morale improves. It will get worse before it gets better. We will remain silly resilient and resiliently silly. Book for now!
Apple introduced the new iPhone 17 and AirPods Pro 3 just a few days ago, and even though they are available only from Friday, something totally absurd is happening: Amazon of is now offering the AirPods Pro 3 at $239, which is $10 lower than Apple’s current offering. This kind of day-one price reduction by Amazon is unheard of and it’s mind-blowing to see this kind of thing occur so rapidly with brand-new materials.
These AirPods Pro 3 offer what is perhaps some of the best in-ear active noise cancellation available on the market. Apple has raised the stakes with a guarantee to cut out twice as much extraneous noise as the AirPods Pro 2 so when you’re listening with them, you’re fully immersed in your music (check out the AirPods Pro 3 review at Gizmodo here). It’s not just about noise-blocking, though – they’ve completely rebooted the sound experience. The 3D spatial sound creates this amazing depth where you can clearly hear every instrument, the bass is more complete and vocals are heard in glorious detail.
And then there’s the heart rate sensor. Yes, these earbuds don’t only pump sound; they track your heart rate and calories burned during any of up to 50 different workouts. Coupled with the fitness capabilities of your iPhone, including the Move ring and new Workout Buddy, you’ve got a dead serious personal trainer in your ears. Cool, right?
Live translation is fueled by Apple Intelligence and it’s another doozy: That equates to being able to overcome language barriers in real time when you’re chatting with friends or traveling abroad. The feature is intelligent and effortless so conversation is like you shared the same language.
Battery life is also excellent as you can listen for 8 hours with Active Noise Cancellation on, and 10 hours when you’re listening with Transparency mode enabled with Hearing Aid. And new ear tips come in five sizes so you can find your best fit for yourself, with them staying put and sound even better.
With these changes in mind, it’s incredible to think that Amazon is offering them for less than Apple charges. If this combination of features and this price is sounding like a deal too good to resist, that’s because it is. Don’t wait too long – this sale doesn’t last forever.
On balance, it’s probably a good thing we have little cause to use the word ‘fief’ anymore. But I do wish I had a few more excuses to deploy it, if only because it’s such an enjoyable word to say. Luckily, I’m able to postpone starting a degree in medieval history just so I can drop ‘fief’ into conversation more often without coming off as a total weirdo, because feudal estates happen to be the focus of Wartales‘ newest DLC.
Wartales, for those unaware, is a low-fantasy RPG where you control a band of mercenaries. At a glance it looks ferociously boring, but as I discovered in my Wartales review, it proved a surprisingly capable story engine laced with gripping turn-based tactical combat. Wartales has received consistent updates—both free and paid—since it launched in 2023, but its latest expansion is apparently the one fans have been anticipating most heavily.
“Since the early days of Wartales’ early access, one request has consistently stood out from the community: owning and managing a fief,” writes developer Shiro games in a recent Steam post. “With our upcoming DLC, Contract: The Fief, we’re finally bringing that vision to life.”
Wartales | The Fief | RELEASE DATE TEASER TRAILER – YouTube
The Fief adds a more strategic layer to Wartales. WIth a ruined castle and a small patch of land, you can slowly build and expand it into a thriving fortified settlement. Your fief produces resources every time your party rests as it explores the world, namely food, defence, trade goods, and knowledge. These resources can be used to satisfy your settlement’s needs, which in turn determine the speed at which your fief grows.
As your fief expands, you can push it toward one of several specialisations, building up its security to transform it into an impregnable citadel, or converting it into a thriving trading port. You can also select a specific government type that will allow you to pursue mandates—strategic objectives that you have several rests to complete.
While the fief is structurally different from Wartales’ broader experience, it sounds like it’s intended to deliver the same emergent moments. Shiro says that the buildings you construct will influence the types of population and the bonuses you receive, and that your mercenaries can “shape these systems directly through construction, upgrades, or audience events”.
Contract: The Fief isn’t out yet, but its arrival is imminent, looming out of Wartales’ autumnal landscape on September 25. There’s no word on price yet, but since the other two Contract DLCs are $13 (£11), I imagine The Fief will cost around the same.

Sundays are for looking up the average costs of raising a child, then researching the startup investment required for a currywurst food truck, then wondering how your spouse would react to some kind of Powerpoint pitch deck. German gastronomy dreams promptly shattered, seems like there’s little else to do but read some of the best games- and not-games-related writing from this past week.
Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride launches on 4K Blu-ray for the first time on September 23. The cult-classic stop-motion animated movie is celebrating its 20th anniversary with two different editions, including a Limited Edition Steelbook with a collectible steelbook case and decorative sleeve. Burton fans can preorder Corpse Bride’s Limited Edition Steelbook for $30 (was $35) at Amazon and Walmart. The standard 4K Blu-ray edition is up for grabs for only $23.79 at Amazon and Walmart.
This has been a popular Steelbook Edition–it sold out for the first time in July before the official artwork was even revealed–and has been listed for as high as $45.49 at both retailers. If you already preordered from Amazon or Walmart, your order total will be adjusted to reflect the lowest price offered before launch ($30). Burton fans can also preorder the new Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Limited Edition Steelbook for $30 (was $35). The Beetlejuice sequel’s collectible edition releases the same day as Corpse Bride.
Corpse Bride’s Limited Edition Steelbook continues a trend we’ve seen more of recently by including a transparent sleeve with artwork that changes the look of the display case. With the sleeve on, as shown above, Emily Merrimack’s eyes are closed, and she’s surrounded by butterflies. When you remove the sleeve, the Corpse Bride’s eyes open and the butterflies disappear, leaving the night sky background clear besides the full moon.
The back of the steelbook features Victor Van Dort, the man who unwittingly marries Emily (according to her, at least). More undead characters are featured on the interior covers, including General Wellington and Bonejangles.
Corpse Bride’s standard 4K Blu-ray mirrors the Steelbook Edition in terms of on-disc content and technical specs. Both editions come with one 4K Blu-ray disc and a voucher for the digital edition via Movies Anywhere.
The 4K restoration includes HDR10 and supports Dolby Atmos surround sound. Along with the film, fans can watch a bunch of bonus content, including retrospectives, featurettes, interviews, and more. Special features are on the disc regardless of which edition you choose, but they aren’t rendered in 4K.

Corpse Bride is the dark tale of Victor Van Dort (Johnny Depp), a young bachelor roped into a wedding of convenience to his bride-to-be, Victoria Everglot (Emily Watson). After a series of incidents result in Victor accidentally marrying a deceased woman named Emily (Helena Bonham Carter), he must find a way to escape the Land of the Dead, help Emily move on.
While Burton’s work spans multiple genres and decades, each film carries his signature style and visual atmosphere, and if you’re looking to check out more of his catalog, many of his films are available on Blu-ray at Amazon. Burton made his directorial debut with Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, and he followed up it with several other cult-classic movies throughout the 1980s and 1990s, such as A Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, and Mars Attacks. He also directed two of the best Batman films ever, in 1989’s Batman and its sequel, Batman Returns. Both films are available in a four-film 4K Blu-ray collection alongside Batman Forever and Batman & Robin for only $33 (was $90) at Amazon.
Visic on YouTube and D4CLoveTrainn on the Silksong subreddit are two Silksongers of the admirably deranged, number crunching variety: Each one independently tested the DPS of every crest (weapon moveset) in the game, and their results exactly corroborate each other.
Such analysis is possible thanks to XiaoHaiNB’s ShowDamage HealthBar mod on the Nexus, which reveals both a bar and the hidden numerical value of every enemy’s health. The DPS values focus on damage from straight nail attacks, with both authors noting that this doesn’t show the whole story: General feel, platforming utility, charged attacks, and tool/spell combos are all factors to consider as well. That said, here are their numbers, with Visic reporting flat damage at max upgrades, while D4CLoveTrainn shows percentage (plus or minus) vs. the base Hunter crest.
Beast with temporary buff: 78.9 / +55%
Hunter (with max no-hit bonus): 69.4 / +36%
Wanderer: 68.3 / +34%
Beast (no buff): 52.4 / +0%
Hunter (no bonus): 50.9 / +0%
Architect: 50.2 / +0%
Witch: 45.7 / -10%
Reaper: 41.6 / -18%
Shaman: 41.5 / -18%
I Tested All the Damage Numbers from All Crests in Silksong, Here’s What I Found (NO SPOILERS) – YouTube
Both crest investigators praised Architect’s charge attack, which offers a powerful multihit with high burst damage. Indeed, Architect’s middle of the road DPS is less of an issue with that attack in mind, as well as its focus on using Silksong’s powerful tools as opposed to regular attacks.
Beast and Hunter at the top slightly oversell them, as they require a great deal of skill and timing to take advantage of: Beast is tied to a five second buff that triggers when you heal, and Hunter’s max damage requires landing 12 hits in succession without taking damage yourself—though there is also a middle bonus for just six hits in a row.
Which leaves my go-to, the Wanderer, as the de facto nail attack DPS king when it comes to consistent, real world use. Wanderer also just feels good, with attacks that come out super fast and a more straightforward down air “pogo” move like in the first Hollow Knight, as opposed to the Hunter’s diagonal dive.
But even with Architect and Wanderer looking like the real S-tier picks, I’m impressed at how balanced the movesets still are overall. Wanderer is held back slightly by suboptimal tool slots, while even the bottom of the barrel Reaper, with low DPS and no game changing bonus, has a niche as a long range, relatively “safe” pick with a nice feel. Shaman has a spellcasting specialization, while Witch has a unique offensive heal and strong charge attack in its own right. Hunter and Beast, meanwhile, seem like they could have a lot to offer high-skill players who can avoid getting hit or take advantage of a limited attack window—D4CLoveTrainn sees speedrun potential in them.
Both authors have more to their analysis than just DPS numbers, like potential tool combos with different crests. Visic also breaks down damage per hit for different moves, while D4CLoveTrainn shows the damage bonus for each level of nail upgrade, plus a subjective assessment of how each crest feels to play. They’re worth diving into for Silksicko power gamers. As for me, I’m just going to keep hitting things with crazy Wanderer DPS.

Far Fields tools: Weighted Belt, Curve Sickle, Warding Bell, and Silkspeed Anklets
Weighted Belt – Can be purchased from a vendor called Mort. You need to pay 30x Rosaries just to enter his shop. However, if you destroy the mechanism above the door, the shop will remain open for later visits. Note that Mort disappears from his location once you reach Act 3 of the campaign.
Curve Sickle – Enter the small room with the circular icon and make sure you’ve equipped the Curveclaw from Hunter’s March. Then, position yourself and jump as you throw it so that the boomerang hits all four wooden targets. A red ant NPC will appear, and you can give the Curveclaw to it. Leave the room and come back to see a glowing item on the ground.
Warding Bell – Go to the bottommost portion of Far Fields’ main vertical shaft. There’s a hidden path to the left that has the Warding Bell. Note that this also leads to Deep Docks and the aforementioned Flintslate tool.
Silkspeed Anklets – You can acquire this tool after defeating the Bellhart boss, which nets you the Needolin ability. Play your Needle weapon in front of the cocoon door to gain access to Weavenest Cyndril. Next, sprint back and forth along the corridor until the plinth appears.
Premium brands love charging $100, $200, even $300 for Bluetooth speakers but a lot of the time, you’re paying for the label more than the performance. If you want real bang for your buck, the Anker Soundcore 2 is a fantastic choice. Now, with Amazon dropping the price from $45 to just $29, this deal is too good to pass up.
The Soundcore 2 isn’t your average small speaker: Inside its compact body hides a powerful 12W output, delivered through dual neodymium drivers engineered to produce rich sound even at higher volumes. One of its standout features is the BassUp technology which selectively boosts low frequencies in real time and makes bass tones punchier without causing distortion.
One of the big concerns when buying a portable speaker is durability and resistance to weather conditions: The Soundcore 2 handles that with an IPX7 rating of waterproofing. It’s a level of protection that can keep it underwater for full submersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It also makes it easy to clean it up—just wash off and go.
Anker’s famed power management combined with a 5,200mAh lithium-ion battery lets this speaker run for up to 24 hours on a single charge. That’s enough to last a full day of work or travel without constantly hunting for an outlet. Plus, fast charge technology means you’re back to full power quickly and makes it ready for your next adventure.
Portability is never sacrificed: Tipping the scales at about half a pound and measuring small enough to fit into backpacks, purses, or big pockets with ease, it fits easily in your pocket. The looks are clean and minimalist, and the controls are uncomplicated enough that anyone can become familiar with them quickly. And talking of Bluetooth, the new Bluetooth 5.0 standard ensures reliable and low-latency connections with your device and improved range.
If expensive Bluetooth speakers are out of your budget, then this Anker Soundcore 2 deal shows you don’t have to take out a second mortgage on a quality portable speaker that’s rugged, sounds great, and plays all day on one battery charge.
Avast is one of the true giants in cybersecurity today, trusted by over 435 million users worldwide. As a core part of Gen Digital (which also owns Norton, AVG and Ccleaner), the company has long been synonymous with free antivirus software. However, in the face of increasingly aggressive and sophisticated cyber threats, Avast has evolved: The days of relying on freeware antivirus are numbered; Avast is now leading the way with robust pay-for security solutions that are designed to guard all devices and every corner of a user’s online life.
The cybersecurity landscape in 2025 is overwhelming. Microsoft and Identity Theft Resource Center data show that more than 600 million cyberattacks took place globally per day throughout last year. Nearly two billion people had data exposed in breaches. The bad guys aren’t even just going after big business: the primary targets are regular folk, with cyber thieves going far beyond mere viruses to steal identities, bank account data, and more using sophisticated malware and fraud.
With insight into the reality of rising threats, Avast has grown beyond mere status as the free antivirus pioneer to an all-out defender of PCs, Macs, Androids, and iOS devices through advanced protection that keeps up with the cybercrime tools of the modern age. Paid subscriptions include a smarter and more comprehensive solution, way beyond yesteryear malware scanning.
A premium choice is Avast Premium Security. At a massive 60% discount dropping the first year down to a mere $31 (previous price being $78), it’s an affordable option that secures one device with premium features. Members are provided with virus, ransomware and phishing protection. It scans Wi-Fi networks to detect vulnerabilities and ensures your digital life remains unscratched by bandits looking to exploit your system. Regardless if you’re a PC, Mac, Android, or Apple user, this offer gives you the essential and robust security.
Add more, and Avast Ultimate has it all from Premium Security with extras such as the Avast SecureLine VPN, which encrypts your internet connection to shield your surfing and keep it private. For $43 after a discount of 60% compared to $109, you get Cleanup Premium as well which maintains your devices in smoother operation by clearing out garbage and streamlining their performance. AntiTrack technology silently in the background prevents trackers and conceals your online identity from snoopers’ view, an essential privacy feature in today’s data-driven world.
In a world where hacks and scams get increasingly formidable by the minute and the consequences of compromised data pile up, Avast’s premium security subscriptions are basic insurance. They give you so much more than traditional antivirus solutions: they safeguard your entire digital existence and provide you with the comfort of mind not just for yourself but for your family and devices as well.
Back in the days when I used to haunt Newgrounds as a perpetually online teenager, a new episode of Madness would always shoot right to the top of the portal charts. The series, created by animator Krinkels, was a sort-of cultural after-dinner mint for fans of The Matrix.
Madness’ fast-paced, hyper-violent shorts involve grey, cross-faced people blasting each other to smithereens. Central to the series’ appeal was how its action scenes grew more impressive and elaborate with every passing episode, and it was always fun to see how far Krinkels could push things when a new entry dropped.
I haven’t thought about Madness for a long time (though the series hasn’t gone away, as I’ll get to shortly). But those memories came flooding back when I spied Somewhere in Hell, a Doom 2 mod that goes to impressive lengths to recreate Madness’ flashy, bloody action in id Software’s shooter sequel.
Somewhere in Hell basically replaces Doom’s weapons and enemies with goons and firearms from Krinkels’ animations. But what’s impressive is how modder Recurracy 2 has infused the mod with the speed and vicious lethality of Krinkels’ animations. The legions of monochromatic foes you face move across the maps fast, crossing whole rooms in a matter of seconds to get in your face.
Somewhere in Hell Release Trailer – A Madness Combat Doom Mod – YouTube
Weapons like the revolver and the double-barrelled shotgun, meanwhile, are imbued with joint-ripping recoil. When bullets connect with your faceless adversaries, they explode like an overstuffed haggis, showering the walls, floor, and the screen itself with gore.
Somewhere in Hell has been in development for a while, but it recently released its 1.0 version, which features 33 weapons and five playable characters. The mod also supports a bunch of custom mechanics like dual wielding weapons, while some of those characters have unique abilities such as a Max-Payne style shoot-dodge.
You can download Somewhere in Hell over on ModDB. If that isn’t enough Madness-related action for you, it’s worth noting the series has an official game—Madness: Project Nexus. This is a 3D, third-person blend of shooter and beat ’em up that was released back in 2021, and seems to be well-regarded among Madness fans.
Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.
The animated series is going strong too. The last episode “Contravention”, was released last year, while Krinkels is gearing up to celebrate Madness Day this coming Monday, with twitch streams, interviews, and an art, animation, and music competition for fans with cash prizes. It’s weirdly reassuring to see this old corner of the Internet still going strong.

Octopath Traveler 0 will be available on the majority of current platforms: Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and 5, Switch and Switch 2, and PC.
Octopath Traveler 0 story, setting, and characters
Octopath Traveler 0 is loosely based on the mobile game Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent. It takes place on Orsterra, the same setting as CotC and the original Octopath Traveler. During the Day of Reverence ceremony in Wishvale, the city is attacked and razed to the ground, leaving your created character with the task of both rebuilding and seeking revenge on those responsible.
The reveal trailer introduces a few story characters: Stia, an Architect who is the player character’s childhood friend; Phenn, a watchful Huntsman; and Laurana, a Cleric. Square Enix claims that there will be over 30 playable characters in total, and they will all have some unique abilities. Further character reveals include Celsus the thief, Alexia the Scholar, Ludo the Merchant, Viator the Warrior, and Macy the Apothecary. Antagonists that have been revealed so far include Herminia, the Covetous Witch; Tytos, the Hero; and Auguste, the Playwright.
Octopath Traveler 0 gameplay
Octopath Traveler 0 inherits much of the freeform exploration gameplay of previous titles. There’s no set, linear route you’ll be required to take from beginning to end, though certain areas may be easier than others depending on your party composition, skills, and equipment. You’ll be able to interact with NPCs through various, character-specific Path Actions, such as Entreat (asking NPCs to give you items) and Inquire (pressing NPCs to give you more information). One of the new Path Actions we know is in the game is Invite, which allows you to attempt to bring an NPC to live in your town.
Enemy encounters occur randomly in certain areas, though there are some encounters that are visible on the map–including challenging elite-tier enemies that require some extra power and strategy to take down.
Octopath Traveler 0 combat
Like the original Octopath Traveler and its sequel, Octopath Traveler 0 features turn-based combat in which you aim to strategically target enemy weaknesses to break down their “shields.” When their shields hit 0, they enter a weakened stun state, allowing you a prime opportunity for a big attack. You can also choose to use a Boost during a character’s turn to enhance their skills’ effectiveness. What makes OT0’s combat different is that up to eight characters can join in, up from four in OT and OT2. The front-row characters are active in combat, while the back-row team provides various boosts. You can switch characters between rows in battle, as well, opening up new strategies. For more details on combat, read our Octopath Traveler 0 Gamescom preview.
Octopath Traveler 0’s new features
Some big new mechanics have been introduced in Octopath Traveler 0. One such new element is town-building, which you’ll use to reconstruct Wishdale. In this mode, you’ll use materials to place and build structures. As you play, you can recruit characters who will aid in rebuilding in various ways, such as staffing facilities. You can also upgrade these facilities through quests. For more details on town-building, check out our Octopath Traveler 0 preview from Gamescom.
The other big feature is character creation and customization, which we detail below.
How character creation works in Octopath Traveler 0
Since all of its characters are drawn in 2D pixel art, character creation in Octopath Traveler 0 is a bit different from many of the 3D titles that offer the feature. You’ll be able to select a base gender, small facial details (eye appearance and color), hairstyle and hair color, skin tone, victory/action poses, voice, and name. Going from the trailer, you’ll also be able to choose a starting Learned Skill (likely similar to Hikari’s mechanic in Octopath Traveler II), starting job, a favorite food (which gives specific stat boosts), and starting gear.

Plan, Aim, Shoot! FLICK SHOT ROGUES is a super-satisfying roguelike dungeon crawler about lining up the perfect shot to send your hero spinning across the board.Trigger wickedly explosive combos and blast the battlefield apart, but don’t be hasty – a misfire could spell your doom! Death is not the end! Each new journey across the island will reshuffle the enemies and offer different rewards. Rise to the challenge and adapt your strategy accordingly! Collect powerful items, talents, and curses, each with unique and game-changing effects. Brave the risks of the curse and supercharge your run with game breaking interactions. Formula Legends
This is an honest to god banger game. Fantastic art style, fantastic music, extremely engaging gameplay, and very good replayability. I only have like 1 minor complaint (or more like something I feel is a missed opportunity): The game lacks interactions between different characters and relics. Just as a quick example, when an enemy is afflicted with stickybombs and fire, it doesn’t do much beyond just making the bomb and fire damage tick separately. It would be cool if stickybomb explosions on enemies that are already burning would make all enemies in range also burn, and if the other relics could also have similar interactions to further encourage swapping characters.
Features and System Requirements:
Every run reshuffles enemies and rewards, so each playthrough is different.
You can create chain reactions and combos via ricochets or bouncing off walls/enemies.
Multiple heroes can be recruited; full game offers several different ones.

I’m very sorry, Mungrul and other pixel-combers – I have once again failed to hide a smiley face in the header image for our latest weekend Wappity. Instead, I have cheekily hidden a few upside-down frowns in the curiously tart and succulent descriptions of my absent colleagues, below.
As for those of us who were not absent when this round-up was rounded up on Friday, here’s what we’re all doing this weekend.
