  • Nioh 3 is killing it on Steam with over double the series’ highest concurrent player count

    [ad_1]

Nioh 3 has had a massive weekend on Steam, the type of launch you just don’t often see for Koei Tecmo games. Indeed, this has very clearly been a monumentous release for both the publisher, and developer Team Ninja.

It is also, quite visibly, the most popular Nioh release ever on PC, and it was impressive watching more and more players jump into the game over the weekend and push the numbers higher.

Nioh 3 came out swinging, breaking the series’ Steam concurrent player record immediately after lanch, with 42,822. Anyone keeping up with how well the game has been received, and how much it’s been anticipated by series fans and Soulslike players, would’ve told you that it was only the beginning.

Late on Friday, and several times on Saturday, the game continued achieving new records, setting new peak concurrent levels every couple of hours. It happened again on Sunday, when the game finally settled on its current 88,045 peak concurrent (via SteamDB).

That’s an incredibly healthy player base, but more than that, it’s more than double the previous record holder, Nioh 2, which peaked at 41,325 concurrent players in 2021. Steam players appear to be very happy with the game, too, with over 1,560 reviews and an overall Very Positive rating.

If you’re among the millions who jumped into Team Ninja’s latest, our guides offer a great place to start. These Nioh 3 gameplay tips cover a wide range of subjects; essential reading for newcomers and veterans. You should also consider changing these settings before you jump in, as it’s going to maker your life easier.

  • Heartopia shows off My Little Pony collaboration, and there’s a pre-launch event to hold you over

    [ad_1]

Heartopia has officially shared initial details about its first-ever collaboration event. The game, which launched a month ago to great success on mobile, as well as Steam on PC, has already been a staple among fans of Animal Crossing and The Sims.

Things are kicking into gear, it seems, because the game is already about to host its first collaboration event, and it is with My Little Pony.

The Heartopia X My Little Pony event officially begins on February 14, but a pre-launch login event is now live through the actual collaboration’s start. The limited-time event offers players sign-in puzzles every day that will unlock time-limited Exhibition Passes.

The first actual piece of My Little Pony-themed content can be yours if you complete all puzzles, as that gets you a limited edition costume for your pet, based on the show’s Spike. The event itself, which will be available until March 15, brings My Little Pony’s Tree of Harmony into the world of Heartopia.

The ponies need your help to Wield Elements of Harmony so they can reawaken the tree, and bring it back to Equestria. In gameplay terms, you’re going to want to perform daily sensing at the tree in order to earn three of the six Elements of Harmony: Honesty, Generosity, Loyalty, Kindness, Laughter, and Magic.

    Watch on YouTube

The more you do this, the more the tree’s Energy goes up, and the more rewards and resources you stand to earn. Even more time-limited Exhibition Passes, and Moonlight Crystals can be earned as you water the tree.

Badge Pull Tokens are your big reward, which is what you’re actually going to use to get the special Pony Series badges. You’ll earn ten time-limited Exhibition Passes each time you complete one of the three sets of Pony Series badges. Collect all three and you’ll earn Town Collaboration Series badges.

Heartopia is a free-to-play game, so you know there is a Gacha component to this event. Expect six non-replacement Gacha Pools that each map to one member of My Little Pony’s Mane Six. Within each pool, you’ll be able to earn five outfit pieces, and one vehicle.

If any of that sounds interesting, definitely log in now to play the pre-launch event, which should hold you over until the proper show kicks off Saturday. If you’re already enjoying Heartopia, you likely want to learn about Onsen Egg Promise locations, Fish locations, and Bug locations – all of which can be found at those links.

We also recently updated our guides on how to catch Frostspore fish – and if you’re into cooking, how to obtain every recipe and variant. If you haven’t already, definitely see if you missed any of these Heartopia codes, too.

  • How to Catch Super Bowl LX in the US? Patriots vs Seahawks Free Streams – Kotaku

    [ad_1]

The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will play the biggest game of the year on Sunday night at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game starts at 3:30pm local time (6:30pm ET) and we’ll tell you how to catch every snap, tackle, and touchdown whether you’re watching from your living room or halfway around the world.

The Free Route: Classic Over-the-Air Broadcasting

NBC’s free broadcast is the best for both traditionalists and people who have cut the cord: You can get to your local NBC station without paying for a subscription or having to have an internet connection with a simple digital antenna that costs about $30 at most electronics stores. People in big cities can watch WNBC in New York, KNBC in Los Angeles, or WMAQ in Chicago.

The over-the-air signal gives you the full NBC experience in HD quality, including Al Michaels’ famous play-by-play, extensive pregame coverage, Bad Bunny’s highly anticipated halftime performance, and postgame analysis that goes well past midnight. Just pure, uninterrupted football the way it’s been shown for decades, with no buffering or data caps.

    Peacock’s Digital Advantage: Premium Streaming

Peacock is NBC’s streaming service and gives viewers more options than just the regular broadcast. You have to pay $7.99 a month for the service with limited ads or $13.99 a month for the ad-free experience, but it has features that regular TV can’t match. Subscribers to Peacock can watch in 4K Ultra HD on compatible devices. They can also use new multiview options to watch multiple camera angles at the same time. The platform also has DVR features that let you rewind important parts and watch NFL Films documentaries and behind-the-scenes videos.

    International Access: Streaming for Free

NBC and Peacock are only available in certain parts of the world for Americans living abroad and international fans. However, there are English-language options available all over the world: Channel 5 and BBC iPlayer both offer free coverage to viewers in the UK. New Zealanders can watch on TVNZ+, while Australians can watch on 7Plus.

VPN services like NordVPN can help people who want to watch these international streams or US expats who want British commentary. The service works on all major platforms and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Users just connect to servers in the country they want to watch TV in. For example, UK servers unlock Channel 5 and BBC iPlayer, Australian servers open 7Plus, and New Zealand servers open TVNZ. To watch Peacock from outside the US, connect to a US server after signing up.

    What Super Bowl LX Means

This is the 60th championship game and it means more than just football. The Patriots-Seahawks game brings back one of the NFL’s most exciting recent rivalries: It pits New England’s powerful offense against Seattle’s rebuilt defense, which is reminiscent of the famous “Legion of Boom” era.

Bad Bunny is the main act at halftime and he will perform a 13-minute reggaeton show with hits like “Tití Me Preguntó” complicated dance moves and rumored guest appearances by some of the biggest names in Latin music. The show is now part of the list of famous halftime shows by Usher, Beyoncé, and Michael Jackson, and more than 120 million people are expected to watch it.

  • Sometimes simple character designs make the most effective cosplays, and this group of Peak Scouts is the perfect example of that

    [ad_1]

Much like the rest of the internet, I spent an ungodly amount of time playing Peak when it launched in June last year, and despite the simplicity of its character design, me and my friends became quite fond of our little characters quite quickly. You’re only given a few customisation options when you start, but you really don’t need a thousand sliders to make a character that truly reflects your personality.

Welcome to Character Select, a weekly column where PC Gamer takes a look at the art and cosplay created by you. Each week, I’ll highlight a few of my favourite pieces, spotlight and interview creators and artists, or generally just chew your ear off about the talents of the gaming community.

  • What’s on your bookshelf: Nyamakop and Relooted’s Marcia Shange

    [ad_1]

Hello reader who is also a reader! It’s finally time for another edition of our thrillingly erratic column on game developers and their bestest books. This week, we’re having our ears bent by Marcia Shange, chief operating officer of South Africa, Johannesburg-based developers Nyamakop, creators of puzzle platformer Semblance and the forthcoming postcolonial heist ’em up Relooted. Cheers, Marcia! Mind if we have a nose at your bookshelf?

    What are you currently reading?

I had hit a bit of a reading slump and fantasy has brought me back into the world of books.

I am currently reading The Dragon Republic, the second book in the The Poppy War trilogy by R.F. Kuang. This is my first time experiencing R.F. Kuang’s writing and I have to say she has my brain in a chokehold.

    What did you last read?

I have been reading back to back series and most of them are unfinished. Quite masochistic of me but once I’m in the world, I need to be immersed until I’m done. I have just finished the third book of The Legendborn Cycle by Tracy Deon. It’s a four book series – as far as we know. This series is so wonderful, it has elements of King Arthur lore with a sprinkle of Black girl magic.

I also finished The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig for my bookclub. What a fun ride this book was! It is a whimsical dark gothic fantasy. It was such a delight to read with one of my favorite characters (Bartholomew! IYKYK!).

What are you eyeing up next?

Apart from The Burning God which is the last book in The Poppy War Series, I’m planning to read the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. I don’t know if you can tell but it seems I’m stuck in fantasy series, to be honest I am not complaining. The world is in shambles and a fantastical escape is needed.

I am planning to revisit Dracula by Bram Stoker and Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. They are always so fun to read and so immersive! What do you mean Jonathan Harker was stuck in the castle with Dracula, a prisoner?! He just wanted some contracts signed! Let’s not even talk about Dr. Jekyll! Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde is beautifully written, it’s a horror but reads like poetry. I found myself drowning in the exquisite prose.

What quote or scene from a book sticks with you the most?

    Tricky!!!

In The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang:

“Nothing is written” said the Phoenix “You humans always think you’re destined for things, for tragedy or for greatness. Destiny is a myth. Destiny is only a myth. The gods choose nothing.”

Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson:

“He is not easy to describe. There is something wrong with his appearance; something displeasing, something downright detestable. I never saw a man I so disliked, and yet I scarce know why. He must be deformed somewhere; he gives a strong feeling of deformity, although I couldn’t specify the point. He’s an extraordinary-looking man, and yet I really can name nothing out of the way. No, sir; I can make no hand of it; I can’t describe him. And it’s not want of memory; for I declare I can see him this moment.”

“Or is it the mere radiance of a foul soul that thus transpires through, and transfigures, its clay continent? The last, I think; for, O my poor old Harry Jerkyll, if ever I read Satan’s signature upon a face, it is on that of your new friend”

What book do you find yourself bothering friends to read?

The Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado: Dare I say this book is almost perfect! I ate it up. It is a memoir about Carmen’s toxic romantic relationship.

James by Percival Everett: This masterpiece is a reimagining of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn but through Jim who is a fugitive slave.

What book would you like to see someone adapt to a game?

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, it’s a book about a depressed woman Nora who tries to commit suicide and she finds herself not the in the afterlife per say but in a magical library where she is shown different versions of her life. She tries to resolve the different choices she has made but nothing is ever perfect. I wonder how that would translate in an open world type of game.

I’ve never read any Robert Louis Stevenson beyond Treasure Island – the “clay continent” line above is nicely chewy. I think I got halfway through Dracula in school but found it too dusty and Victorian to finish (my first experience of Dracula fiction was the Gary Oldman film, which is a bit… pacier and spicier than Stoker’s book, at least by the standards of a 90s teenager). Any suggestions for developers we should bother about books? I’ve got one more set of answers in the offing.

  • The Sunday Papers

    [ad_1]

Sundays are for waking up and remembering you said you’d help your sister-in-law move house. A burning fear flares in your gut, not of the manual labour, but of how she said it was fine because she’d bought a flatbed trolley off a Chinese website for £40. The fear fades into sad resignation that you’ll end the day picking up splinters of shattered plywood out of a carpet.

This week’s readings are a little light on actual videogame stuff. Though let’s be honest, sometimes videogames don’t deserve it.

  • In defense of Assassin’s Creed Unity

    [ad_1]

You’ve just completed one of Unity’s black box assassination missions, an infiltration with multiple diversions and entrances to find and exploit. The next mission has you meet up with Elise, your templar girlfriend, on the streets of revolutionary Paris. She’s being pursued by a mob of templar thugs—her faction aren’t fans of her or you at this point in the story—and you get roped into the chase. Literally. Her escape route leads to a demonstration of a hot-air balloon, the same model the Montgolfier brothers used just nine years previous in the first manned balloon flight. Of course, she jumps in. It’s your job to cut the ropes while fighting off the first wave of pursuers.

It’s a perfect setup for the kind of over-the-top pseudo-historical hijinks the Assassin’s Creed games specialize in. This is Ezio piloting Leonardo da Vinci’s prototype tank, or Lydia Frye shooting down biplanes over London with an experimental anti-aircraft gun. The Montgolfier springs into the air with Elise in it, but not you. You have to parkour after it while Elise leans out to shoot snipers. When the Montgolfier gets tangled on a rooftop you cut it loose, with just enough time for a dramatic leap into the basket and a romantic moment as the wind whisks you far away from the chaos of Paris in 1792.

  • Throw pool, dice and stickers into a blender and you get STICKER/BALL, a roguelike that relishes in chaos

    [ad_1]

I’ll be truthful with you for a moment: I do, from time to time, enjoy a game where I do not have to be supremely strategic, and get to watch different lights and colours light up on my screen. Something that’s got the juice, but doesn’t ask too much of me. Everyone needs to turn their brain half off once in a while! And I believe I could quite easily find myself switching off that half to STICKER/BALL once in a while, a “pool game roguelike from the future.”

Ok, so, I do have to admit that for the first couple minutes of STICKER/BALL’s demo, I had to turn my brain on ever so slightly to figure out what was going on, so let me explain it for you here. You have six balls. When a run starts, there is a single die on the screen, so you shoot the die, and get points, of which there’s a minimum you have to make each round, increasing upon a successful one. Once the ball comes back to you, you are granted a choice of one singular sticker amongst three, all of which have different effects to get you even more points.

STICKER/BALL is my new roguelike deckbuilder full of chaos, silliness and stickers🔥🎲🔴

    – Throw balls at dice to earn points
    – Unlock 100+ stickers to put on dice
    – Spiders/poop/explosions.. all the normal ones..
    – Trigger crazy combos
    – Don’t run out of balls

    🎲DEMO OUT NOW🎲

    — STICKER/BALL (@stickerball.bsky.social) February 3, 2026 at 3:06 PM

For example, a house sticker spawns a human when you hit it, and said human gives you three points upon spawning, or six if they survive, and eight if they die from getting shot by a bullet. So, you might then want to place a gun sticker on the dice field, of which there are 216 slots, each line unlocking the more stickers you get. You can also choose which stickers go on which numbered die, and they’ll randomly appear on the main field, prompting you to determine just where you want to point your ball towards.

The more dice you get, the more opportunities for the ball to bounce around and cause the different stickers to interact with one another. A game of true, honest cause and effect. And as mentioned, one that requires just a smidge of thought, as when there’s enough stickers on the field, you can kind of just feel out where it’s best to shoot your shot on instinct, resulting in those treasured flashing colours.

I think ultimately the game is summarized quite well by the last line of its Steam description: “Enjoy the chaos, it’s on purpose.” I will, STICKER/BALL! No exact release date attached to this one, but it’s currently slated for release in 2026, and you can wishlist it on Steam here.

  • Is Marvel Super Heroes and Universes Beyond Threatening To Overshadow Magic’s Next In-Universe Set Again? – IGN

    [ad_1]

Magic: The Gathering is continuing where it left off in 2025, rolling out a whopping four crossover sets under its Universes Beyond branding in 2026: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Marvel Super Heroes, The Hobbit, and Star Trek.

That’s quite the mix, but at a time when fans are crying out for some consistency and continuity, Wizards of the Coast is about to make the same mistake it made with last year’s marketing cycle.

In short, it feels like it can’t wait to get Secrets of Strixhaven out of the way, forgetting why many people play Magic in the first place.

Magic’s Universes Beyond Sets Shouldn’t Come At The Cost Of Its Own Identity

There’s a running joke that Magic crossovers are the worst thing about the game until it’s a franchise you love, and as a longtime fan of Peter Parker’s adventures, I admit I bought into the Spider-Man hype last year.

It was easy to do, too, since Wizards started revealing cards and products super early, trampling over the Edge of Eternities set in the process. The rest, as they say, is history: Spider-Man was inarguably Magic’s most disappointing set of at least the last year (maybe longer), and Edge of Eternities was much more well-received but invariably didn’t get its chance in the limelight.

While I was hoping that Wizards would take some lessons from it, we’re now entering a 2026 roadmap with seven full sets planned. Lorwyn Eclipsed is great, and only just launched, but that’s January’s set. Preorders are now live for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Secrets of Strixhaven, and even Marvel Super Heroes.

That last set, by the way, is around five months from launch. While I appreciate that a company needs a line on a graph to go up to show success by bringing in new players, it’s starting to feel like Wizards of the Coast is trampling on Magic’s own legacy in its desperation to talk about crossover sets.

Lorwyn Eclipsed should be a celebration, a chance to return to a beloved Plane full of classic creature types, and instead, we’re getting close to the Turtles landing on store shelves. Looking past Strixhaven to a Marvel crossover, this early (and with the taste of the Spider-Man set still lingering), is just a bad look.

Please, Wizards – don’t let Secrets of Strixhaven suffer the same way Edge of Eternities is. It’s almost unavoidable with such a packed release calendar, but if you can’t pay enough time to your own universes, the ones that have captivated players for over three decades, does that not tell you a change is required?

Honestly, all of this is moot anyway – I’m part of the problem. I’ve pre-ordered some Marvel Superheroes products, and you can bet your Bilbo Baggins that I’ll be first in line for The Hobbit.

    [ad_1]

The countdown is almost over. This Sunday, February 8, 2026, the New England Patriots face off against the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. With a record-breaking halftime show featuring Bad Bunny and the most expensive commercials in history, Super Bowl LX is the must-watch event of the year.

Whether you’re in New York, Toronto, or traveling abroad, using NordVPN for a reliable stream is the difference between seeing a game-winning touchdown and staring at a buffering wheel. You can even grab their 70% discount now and try it risk-free for the Super Bowl thanks to their 30-day money-back guarantee

Super Bowl 2026: Everything you need to watch Patriots vs. Seahawks

    • Matchup: Patriots vs. Seahawks
    • Date: Sunday, February 8, 2026
    • Kickoff: 6:30 PM ET / 3:30 PM PT
    • Halftime Show: Bad Bunny (Apple Music)

Pro Tip: You can access free international streams of the game using a VPN.

Watch Super Bowl for free (NordVPN)

How to stream the Super Bowl 2026 for free

While NBC (USA) and CTV/TSN (Canada) offer full coverage, they often require a paid cable or satellite subscription to stream online. However, several international networks broadcast the Patriots vs. Seahawks game entirely for free.

By using a VPN service like NordVPN, you can virtually change your location to access these legal free streams:

    • UK: BBC and Channel 5 (English commentary)
    • Australia: 7Plus (English commentary)
    • France: M6+ (French commentary)

This is the most cost-effective way to watch the Super Bowl 2026 for free. Simply connect to a server in the UK or Australia, head to the broadcaster’s website, and enjoy the game just like a local.

    Get 70% Off NordVPN + 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Why a VPN is Essential for Sunday’s Broadcast

A VPN is more than just a tool to unblock content. For a massive event like the Super Bowl, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) might “throttle” or slow down your connection because of the high data usage. NordVPN encrypts your data, preventing your ISP from seeing what you’re doing and ensuring you get the fastest possible speeds for a 4K stream.

Setting it up takes less than 3 minutes:

    1. Sign up for NordVPN (take advantage of the 30-day money-back guarantee).
    2. Download the app on your TV, phone, or laptop.
    3. Connect to a UK server (for BBC/Channel 5) or an Australian server (for 7plus).
    4. Start streaming the Patriots vs. Seahawks game for free!

Patriots vs. Seahawks: What to Expect

This Sunday’s broadcast isn’t just a game; it’s a rematch of one of the most famous Super Bowls in history. While the rosters have changed, the intensity between New England and Seattle remains at an all-time high.

Don’t forget the Apple Music Halftime Show. Bad Bunny has promised a “global party,” and rumors of surprise guest appearances are already swirling. With NordVPN, you can ensure you won’t miss a second of Benito’s performance or the legendary Super Bowl commercials, regardless of where you are in the world.

  • HBO’s Baldur’s Gate Show Wants To Be a Sequel to BG3. That’s Impossible. – IGN

    [ad_1]

This article contains some spoilers for Baldur’s Gate 3.

So, HBO is turning Baldur’s Gate into a TV show. On its own, that’s quite an exciting proposition: a big-budget, live-action series set in Dungeons & Dragons’ most iconic city? Yes please. But the project’s announcement, which came courtesy of Deadline, contains a line that immediately had me burying my head in my hands.

“The Baldur’s Gate TV series will be a continuation to the games,” says the report, “telling a story that takes place immediately after the events of Baldur’s Gate 3, as the characters — old and new — are dealing with the ramifications of the events in the third game.”

The ramifications of what events, exactly? The defeat of the Netherbrain? Or perhaps the enslavement of it in the name of the Absolute? Or Gale’s choice to turn into a magical nuclear bomb, sacrificing himself to save the city? These are just three of the many ways Baldur’s Gate 3 can end, and that’s before we consider the dozens and dozens of choices that you make on the way to that conclusion. There are approximately 17,000 variations of the game’s final cutscene. How could a TV show possibly “deal with the ramifications of the events of the third game” when every single player has their own version of events?

For some players, Minthara is an enemy. To others, she’s a lover and a close ally.

The answer, of course, is that showrunner Craig Mazin must decide what choices are “canon.” One half of the duo behind The Last of Us’ HBO adaptation must now set certain events in stone in order to create a baseline to build his story upon. But to decide upon a canon series of events for Baldur’s Gate 3 is not the same as, for instance, determining which of Mass Effect 3’s trio of concluding options would be the starting point for what comes next. It’s not a simple case of how the story ends, but everything that happened on the 100-hour journey up until that point, too.

The entire picture of Baldur’s Gate 3, the story any one player lived, is the result of hundreds of decisions, ranging from the tactical to the emotional to the completely unaware. For some, Minsc and his miniature space hamster, Boo, are vital parts of the story. Yet many won’t even know who he is, having passed by and never recruited him to their party. There are those for whom Shadowheart’s escape from the Church of Shar is a defining moment, yet others will have found an equally defining pathway in encouraging her to embrace the dark goddess. And for those players of a more chaotic leaning, Baldur’s Gate 3 is the tale of an unstoppable serial killer that greedily succumbs to their own Dark Urge, tearing limbs off wizards and letting goblins slaughter refugees. The game is less a single story with a handful of different outcomes, and more like hundreds of character threads that are entwined like rope. A rope that grows thicker and longer with every romance (steady now), argument, betrayal, and surprise you experience. To unravel all that and find a single golden thread for television seems at best foolhardy, at worst impossible.

Anyone who wants a sequel to Baldur’s Gate 3 wants a follow-up to their own experience, not Craig Mazin’s.

None of this is to say that the show is guaranteed to be bad, or of poor quality. Considering Mazin’s prior work – in particular, Chernobyl – and HBO’s track record with fantasy programming, there’s every chance that Baldur’s Gate will be a fantastic show, at least when viewed in isolation. But it’s difficult to create that isolation when the project is explicitly a continuation of the journey so many of us undertook for hundreds, sometimes even thousands of hours. And because of Baldur’s Gate 3’s unrivalled branching RPG design, we have all become deeply attached to our own versions of this world and its characters.

It should be said that details of how the show will be structured are still incredibly thin. It will feature a group of new protagonists, so we don’t know to what extent the now-famous party of heroes and antiheroes that make up Baldur’s Gate 3 cast will feature. By being a “continuation to the games”, could it merely exist in a world where the Netherbrain once existed, and tales of heroes’ journeys to defeat it are muttered in the city’s streets like mythical tales? Or will meetings with the likes of Wyll, Astarion, Lae’zel be little more than fleeting encounters, kept somewhat shapeless in an effort to remain relevant to most players’ memories of them? It creates a dilemma: purposefully keep things vague and potentially undercook the history of this world, or pick a defined canon that could alienate large portions of your viewership?

Television adaptations are, of course, designed with more than one eye on wider markets. HBO wants people who have never played Baldur’s Gate 3 to become invested in its world. But that begs the question: why a direct sequel? Why take place immediately after a story that a portion of your audience has no investment in? If half your audience has no attachment to those events, and the other half will almost certainly have experienced a different version of the events you’re building upon, who is winning here? Anyone who does want a sequel wants a follow-up to their own experience, not Craig Mazin’s.

Baldur’s Gate won’t be the first show to tackle this problem. Just this year, the second season of Fallout told a story set after the events of Fallout: New Vegas, an RPG that also concludes with a number of very different, world-defining options. But Fallout has made a number of smart choices. Firstly, it’s not a sequel to the game; it’s just set in the same universe, and thus isn’t trying to continue the plot of New Vegas. Secondly, it’s set over a decade later, and purposefully leaves the events during that time a complete mystery. And so the show’s depiction of the game’s characters and factions doesn’t have to join the dots. Did you hand the Vegas Strip to the Legion in your playthrough? Well, in the 15 years since, they’ve succumbed to infighting and have fallen from their mighty position. You don’t need to know how it happened, it just did.

Using this method, Fallout (sort of) successfully ensures no one New Vegas ending is cemented as canon. Every outcome could have happened, but the result of your choices may not have endured for the 15 years between the game and the show. Larian Studios, the developer of Baldur’s Gate 3, understood the benefit of this kind of time gap; its gargantuan RPG is set more than a century after the events of its predecessor, ensuring it’s not restricted by the conclusion of Baldur’s Gate 2 and has space to create its own story. By starting immediately after the events of BG3, the show won’t have this luxury. It has to make a choice. It has to invalidate thousands of playthroughs. It can’t be the sequel to your experience of Baldur’s Gate 3.

It doesn’t have to be this way. The real lesson to learn from Fallout is that video game adaptations thrive best when they are decoupled from existing stories. So the big question is, why is this not just a Dungeons & Dragons show? You can set a D&D show in Baldur’s Gate. You can call a D&D show “Baldur’s Gate”. You can even include characters and reference (certain) events from Baldur’s Gate 3. But to purposefully shackle yourself to continuing the story of that game, rather than freely exploring its world, feels like purposefully rolling a critical fail on the first round of combat.

  • Carmageddon: Rogue Shift Free Download (Build 21803723)

    [ad_1]

    Carmageddon: Rogue Shift Direct Download

Carmageddon smashes back with brutal roguelite vehicular‑combat mayhem. Adapt, upgrade, and unleash destruction on post‑apocalyptic zombie hordes. The legacy lives on, reinvented and unforgiving.

The legendary Carmageddon engine roars back to life, as a spin-off for a new era of vehicular combat.

The year is 2050, and the world you know is a post‑apocalyptic wasteland.

Hordes of nightmare creatures, the Wasted, lay siege to humanity. Every night, the streets are overrun, forcing everyone to barricade themselves in their skyscraper-homes for survival.

There is just one chance to escape all this: the Carmageddon.

These deadly races promise power, prestige, and valuable prizes to the participants. Most importantly, the champion wins the right to attempt the perilous journey that leads to the spaceport beyond the mountains. The only one left, the only chance to flee this dying world.

You enter the Carmageddon as one of countless racers, equipped with little more than a rust bucket, scavenged fuel, and a makeshift weapon. You’ll face off against rival gangs like the Autoscum and other rogues in a fight for survival. Each destruction race is an opportunity to win parts and upgrades, a step towards the ultimate escape. DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined

As the night descends, the Wasted take the streets, and you with them.

The original Carmageddon spirit of vehicular mayhem has been refined and redesigned. We looked at the past and the present to create a visceral, fast and accessible form of combat racing.

    • 15 upgradeable vehicles – FWD, RWD & AWD, each with unique weight and suspension

    • Metal‑on‑metal car combat – crash, shove, boost and side‑bash rivals

13 weapon classes – from shotguns to railguns, all fully upgradable

    • 80+ perks – craft outrageous synergies for destruction racing supremacy

    • Dynamic weather & day‑night cycle – rain slicks the tarmac, fog shrouds ambushes

    • Elite & Boss events – colossal war‑rigs, corrupted Enforcers, and endless zombie hordes

    • Extensive visual damage model – windshields, hood, doors, bumpers and trunk lid will bend, crumple, hang and detach.

Every Campaign run offers a unique journey through a randomly generated graph.

Win Events and smash opponents to gain Credits. Maneuvers such as killing Wasteds, drifts, jumps, and flicks also grant rewards.

Strategically plan your route so you can reach Shops. In these safe havens you can repair your car, swap weapons, or install one of the 80+ unlockable perks. Adapt to the dynamically increasing difficulty and conquer elite events and bosses. With branching paths, varied objectives, and ever-changing time-of-day and weather conditions, no two runs are the same.

But the Carmageddon ain’t over when your vehicle is wrecked. Another driver will step up, and the challenge will resume anew, in a typical roguelite loop. Earn Beatcoins to unlock permanent bonuses and new content between runs in the Black Market. Find synergies between these elements to create the ultimate killing machine: the Carmageddon never ends

The Carmageddon hosts a diverse assembly of marauders, rejects, and lowlifes. Some prefer to rush in front of the pack. Others will chase you and try to bash you out of the way. Some will wait for the chance to unload their weapons into your car. Some are more skilled or better prepared than others. You may recognize some familiar names in the crowd.

Corrupt police forces known as the Enforcers impose their brutal rules on those spared from mutation. The Enforcers will force you off the road to strip your car for spare parts and ammo, if you let them.

Each area of the city is controlled by a particularly fierce opponent, commonly known as “the Boss”. These are the biggest, baddest, fastest, more armed vehicles that you can find. The rules of the Carmageddon demand that you beat each Boss before advancing to the next stage.

Every race is a brutal test of skill, demanding you master driving, melee, and ranged attacks against a diverse and unpredictable roster of foes. To do so, you must work on your car, find upgrades and weapons that combine well together, and consistently perform behind the wheel.

The Third World War and a series of devastating natural disasters left Earth in ruins. Amidst the chaos, a food supplement called MiVis was introduced to address food shortages, and became a ubiquitous part of daily life.

However, long-term consumption of MiVis led to a horrific cellular mutation, transforming people into Wasted – monstrous, empty husks consumed by the supplement’s side effects. Now, they have become a mass of unsentient, super-aggressive beings that threaten survivors as soon as the sun starts to set.

A lone Wasted is no match for your chariot of fury. Things start to heat up when more Wasteds show up. Boost into the hordes of humanoid husks swarming the track, parting the waves of Wasted like a Moses on wheels! But be careful not to get stuck in the high tide: too many Wasteds will surround your car and smash it to bits with the remains of their raw hands.

And then there are Special Wasteds… horrible supermutations of the Wasted, morphed into something even less human.

They may explode, shoot you from a distance, lunge at your car, or produce even nastier surprises. They pose a real danger and tend to show up late at night. And then, there’s the ultimate abomination. A creature whispered about, rarely seen; the monster that guards the only mountain pass towards salvation, and your final challenge.

    Features and System Requirements:

    • Roguelite Campaign Structure – Each run takes you through a branching map of randomized events, shops, elite challenges, and bosses — making every playthrough unique.
    • 15 Upgradeable Vehicles – Choose from a variety of car types (FWD, RWD & AWD), from tanks and buggies to hot-rods, all with dynamic visual damage.
    • Heavy Combat & Weapons – Equip and upgrade across 13 weapon classes including shotguns, miniguns, missiles, railguns, lasers and more for explosive chaos.
    • Dynamic Weather & Day-Night Cycle – Weather conditions and time of day affect racing and combat, from slick rain to foggy nights.
    • Permanent Progression Between Runs – Earn Beatcoins to unlock new cars, weapons, and perks in the Black Market that stay with you across multiple runs.

  • Helldivers 2 Is Teasing Something With A Mess Of Binary Code

    [ad_1]

Helldivers 2 doesn’t give its players much of breather before throwing another invasion or intergalactic threat at them. Players across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC have a new reason to be wary, now that Arrowhead Studios CEO Shams Jorjani has been teasing the potential return of an old enemy faction.

    On the Helldivers Discord channel, Jorjani wrote the following message in binary code: “01011001 01101111 01110101 00100111 01110010 01100101 00100000 01100111 01101111 01101110 01101110 01100001 00100000 01110011 01101000 01101001 01110100 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 01110010 00100000 01110000 01100001 01101110 01110100 01110011.”

According to GamesRadar, that code translates to English as “you’re gonna s*** your pants,” which is part of a long-running joke that Jorjani first used last year.
