    After earning critical and audience acclaim during three successful runs spread between Los Angeles and Austin, Texas, Paradise The Movie, LLC announces that the bluegrass musical Paradise, a Town of Sinners & Saints has been transformed into a high-quality cinematic experience.

    Paradise, a Town of Sinners & Saints is a collaboration between writer/producers Tom Sage and Bill Robertson, both alumni of National Lampoon Magazine, and composer/lyricist/musical director Cliff Wagner, who found national fame when he and his band The Old #7 (“Hobo’s Lullaby”) performed on Fox’s The Next Great American Band.

    Drawing comparisons to Book of MormonAvenue Q, and Once, among other musicals, Paradise, a Town of Sinners & Saints is a bluegrass musical comedy where good and evil fight for the soul of a dried-up coal mining town. The stage production was described by Austin 360 as “Simultaneously smart, funny and pointedly critical of the hypocrisies of much of our current culture,” while the Santa Monica Daily Press declared, “It’s a foot-stomping, hilarious, naughty musical that will leave you smiling throughout.”

One of the complaints I’ve heard from those who claim they don’t like musicals is that the songs are too long. Not so with Paradise. They are just right and skillfully placed to help further the plot. All in all, Paradise is a thoroughly entertaining show with something for everyone. Musicals this charming just can’t be beat.”

    Paradise, a Town of Sinners & Saints, which stars Mary Sarah, a finalist on The Voice, as well as Diane Delano (Me Time), Raquel Castro (Jersey Girl), Dave Florek (NCIS), Jon Root (Avenue Q), Casey Ford Alexander (Dopesick) Edward Singletary Jr. (American Crime Story) and Eric Casalini (88). It was directed by Justin Ward, co-writer/director of The Meanest Man in Texas and writer/director/producer of Relish. The latter film recently won Best Feature Film and Best Original Screenplay at the Madrid International Film Festival, and Ward is currently in post-production on his latest film, The Furry Fortune, which has already found distribution. Working behind the scenes on Paradise is producer Brad Wilson, whose 11-year alliance with Oscar-winning actor Robert Duvall led the two gentlemen to collaborate on 18 films together, including Colors and Days of Thunder.

    “With the help of Justin and Brad, we were able to take a successful stage production and create a low-budget feature film so we could reach more people with our toe-tapping, crazy funny, musical,” said Sage and Robertson. “It’s an irreverent, heartfelt bluegrass comedy that brings everyone together.”

    First 100% Directly Connected, Time Shifted, Solar Energy Powered Indoor Rock Concert in North America

    The City of Summerside and BluWave-ai completed the first 100% time-shifted solar energy powered concert in North America. This feat took place on the first stop of the 2022 Canadian Tour of globally renowned Canadian musician, Bryan Adams, at the Credit Union Place in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada from 8-11 pm on Tuesday, August 31st. The concert was run indoors at night leveraging solar and battery solutions. This milestone for BluWave-ai and Summerside is building off of their shared project, the Canadian Smart Grid AI Center of Excellence at the City of Summerside, announced earlier this year.

    Leveraging the BluWave-ai energy optimization platform running in the cloud, BluWave-ai Edge and BluWave-ai Center, the partners were able to predict solar production during the day of August 31st. Through this, they could store sufficient solar capacity in a 890 kWh battery to cover the projected energy demand of the concert such as lighting, audio equipment, and air conditioning. With a day of immense solar fluctuations, the system was able to operate the building in advance of the concert while storing enough solar energy to drive the concert in the evening.

    Once the concert started, the automated platform took over to detect the increased load created by the concert and peripheral elements and managed the stored solar energy to supply the concert load over the 3 hour period.

    Below is how the system played out on concert day:

    • The AI platform left enough battery capacity unfilled during the night of August 30th to August 31st to fill the battery with solar production at the Summerside CUP on the day of the Bryan Adams concert, August 31st.
    • From approximately 8:00 am to 12:00 pm AST the battery was loaded with 496kWh of coincidental solar produced energy by setting thresholds. This way, solar generated over capacity was moved to the battery for the concert in the evening while the rest of the facility could run on a combo of Summerside Wind Power and regular grid power.
    • Baselining of the overall facility power usage from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm AST on days without a concert showed the electricity load. During this time averaged 718.5 kWh for the facility with no concert.
    • During the 3 hour concert the facility used 1173 kWh. The total incremental energy from the concert was 454.5 kWh compared to regular days.
    • During the concert the BluWave-ai system delivered 496kWh of time-shifted green solar power via the battery or an average of 165kW per hour more, covering the entire needs of the concert and associated climate control.

    To showcase the performance of the BluWave-ai Canadian Smart Grid Center of excellence which works with Summerside’s wind farm, solar array, battery storage, grid connection, and smart metering assets, the cloud-based AI optimization platform was able to deliver a 100% solar powered concert with less than 24 hours to configure, commission, and operationalize to support the new demand of the system to support the green rock concert.

    In November 2021, BluWave‐ai and the City of Summerside announced the completion of the first-end to-end AI‐optimized grid in North America, the first industry proof point of a scalable system applicable to entire regions and countries for transitioning energy networks toward maximizing the use of renewable assets. In 2021, BluWave-ai was awarded a major contract to advance Summerside’s system utility manager software to integrate a new 26‐megawatt Solar and Battery project.

    The test during the Bryan Adams August 31st concert used a subset of the Summerside smart grid and AI control system to manage operations, perfectly matching solar powering the concert load.

    “As a testament to the robustness and flexibility of the BluWave-ai energy optimization platform, and with very short notice, the system was able to manage energy use at the arena to supply the concert with 100% solar energy,” said Devashish Paul, CEO of BluWave-ai. “Once the constraints were identified, the automated platform took over. This proved a compelling use case for time-shifting solar energy which is applicable for large commercial enterprises, electric vehicle fleets and for supporting the grid with demand response and resiliency without resorting to diesel backup generators and shows another example of our company’s live real-time deployments on streaming data and renewable energy assets.”

We brought in BluWave-ai as a partner to set up the Canadian Smart Grid AI Center of Excellence and provide the AI-enabled control of the city smart grid,” said Mike Thususka, Summerside Director of Economic Development. “To showcase our capabilities as a leading North American municipality, we decided to deliver a 100% green solar energy concert experience at our arena. We continue to invest in our green future and by 2023 with the Sunbank solar and storage facility, Summerside will be running off 70% renewable energy with an eye to hit 100% in the very near future. Industries setting up operations in Summerside may be eligible for various clean tech and first customer experiences using Summerside’s leading edge infrastructure which we demonstrated at the concert working with our partners BluWave-ai.”

    Even following a partially cloudy day, Summerside and BluWave-ai delivered a 100% solar energy power for the Bryan Adams concert by time shifting solar energy over-production to the evening and matching it to the concert load. This proved that the entertainment and sports events industry can run their events without depending on elaborate carbon-emitting diesel generation backup systems for resiliency when solar powered batteries can be connected to events. In Summerside’s case, the battery and solar generation are on site. For concert locations without this capability, batteries can be charged off-site and moved to the venue by electric trucking rather than by installing diesel generators moved by diesel-powered trucks, enabling a similar 100% clean operation.

    Today, Sept. 9, De Montfort Music, under its new home at Sophia Music Group, marks the release of Rorate Cœli: Marian Sounds of Advent by The Monks of Clear Creek.  This will be the first global release from the recently inked label signing with The Monks of Clear Creek.  Established out of France’s venerable Notre-Dame de Fontgombault Abbey, of the Solesmes Congregation, this growing U.S. monastic community is based in the U.S. Ozarks. The Monks of Clear Creek is comprised of over 60 men, representing a variety of cultural backgrounds. Both Benedictine tradition and the Clear Creek community’s heritage as part of the Solesmes Congregation entail a great appreciation for the ancient, sacred music of Gregorian chant – the plainchant that started developing as long ago as the ninth century, enduring across many civilizations to the present day.  

    About the music-making at Clear Creek Abbey, Abbot Philip Anderson says: “The power of music is that it does amazing things in one’s soul, something that even Plato recognized. This chant is a vehicle that allows us to express the faith and prayer of praise that’s so characteristic of the Benedictine way of life.     The album was produced and engineered by the multiple Grammy Award-winning producer Brad Michel, who describes The Monks’ music as “not performed, but rather lived and believed… When an artist is living every word like that, it’s impossible not to get caught up in the experience.”

    Rorate Cœli’ follows other successful recordings from De Montfort Music/AimHigher, who accounted for many of Billboard’s #1 Classical Traditional Album Imprints of the past decade. Recorded in surround sound for release with Apple Music’s Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, ‘Rorate Cœli’ features music from a Mass of Our Lady in Advent and a Mass for the Vigil of Christmas, which were recorded at Clear Creek Abbey. Some pieces on the album are sung by the entire group, some by smaller ensembles of monks and others by soloists, lending a vast range of sound and color to this classic new recording.

    Renowned artist & musician Alan Robert, best known for being the primary songwriter and bassist for Life of Agony and the creator of the hit IDW Publishing book series The Beauty of Horror, is also a man who would not take it anymore. Robert embraces his inner Travis Bickle in the new music video for “Damaged Goods” from his punk rock side project Spoiler NYC, distributed by Wasted Talent Entertainment. The band, along with director Derek Soto, hit the mean streets of New York City to re-create shots from Scorsese’s cult-classic Taxi Driver, with Robert in the iconic mohawk and unmistakable checkered cab.

    “There’s no sicker feeling in the world than driving down the streets of New York in an old cab dressed like Travis Bickle,” laughs Robert. “Random strangers were running over to snap selfies with me, thinking we were filming a sequel or something!”

    Grammy Award-winner Ken Lewis, of Wu-Tang Clan, Beastie Boys, and Eminem fame, produced and mixed “Damaged Goods”, which appears on Spoiler NYC’s latest release titled “Banned in 38 States“. The album is a remastered 15th-anniversary edition of the group’s 2007 debut “Grease Fire in Hell’s Kitchen“, along with two new tracks. All songs have been completely remastered by Life of Agony’s Joey Zampella at The Nest Studio in Long Island, NY.

    Today, Fort Worth, Texas-based country music television network The Country Network (TCN) announced the relaunch of their nationally televised platform under new ownership, new vision and new programming that offers viewers more diverse content. 

    Staying true to its roots, TCN will continue to play videos from today’s biggest country music artists, while adding its new country theme-based content which will include movies, lifestyle shows, documentaries and episodals.

    The new TCN ownership group is spearheaded by incoming CEO Tommy Snyder, a Nashville Music Row veteran. Snyder spent nine years with country music legend Charlie Daniels and has written songs for various country artists, movies, and television. Snyder brings his expertise to the network along with his team of television professionals to create a network where country music, country lifestyle and family values are at the core of programming. 

    Also, joining the TCN team is the original founder of The Country Network, Chad Brock. Brock returns to the network as VP of Artist Relations. Brock’s music career with Warner Bros. gave him seven chart singles on Billboard including the number-one hit “Yes!” Brock will host the upcoming “Chad Brock Show,” interviewing country artists and personalities along with musical performances by guest artists.

    The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation today announced details for The Event, its second annual fundraising gala presented by Pepsi Stronger Together scheduled for Oct. 1, 2022, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The evening will feature an all-star lineup from the worlds of music and comedy, including performances from multiple GRAMMY award-winning artists Maroon 5; CMA’s 2020 Female Artist of the Year Maren Morris; and Emmy award-winning comedian John Mulaney — with more performers to be announced in the coming weeks. 

    Established by four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal, The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation’s mission is to create pathways for underserved youth to help them achieve their full potential. In doing so, it has partnered with two organizations close to Shaquille’s heart — Boys & Girls Clubs and Communities in Schools. The Event serves as the primary fundraiser for The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation.

    Concert tickets ranging from $50 to $250 are available to the public and go on sale at 10 a.m. PT on Friday, Aug. 19, via AXS.com. The evening will also include a private cocktail reception, dinner, and live auction followed by the public performance.     “Unplugged” will help music industry professionals process stress and reconnect with their authentic selves.

     The Onsite Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity and leader in emotional health education and resources, announced in 2021 a partnership with MusiCares® to create and host a retreat for music industry professionals titled “Unplugged: a healing retreat at Onsite for the music industry”. This three-day healing retreat at Onsite is an invitation to step away from all the noise and distractions and into a space where participants can freely explore who they are, what got them here, and who they truly want to be as a creative moving forward. The tools will help attendees connect with themselves and work toward building an authentic life.

    The “Unplugged” retreat will take place Oct. 6-9, 2022 at Onsite in Cumberland Furnace in Middle Tennessee and will be available to musicians, singer/songwriters, engineers, stagehands, managers, tour bus drivers, A&R, agents, make-up artists, venue managers, live crews, and anyone else who is currently working or has worked in the music industry.

    Last year, 26% of MusiCares Wellness in Music Survey respondents said they regularly experience moderate to severe levels of depression. To put that in perspective, a 2019 National Health Interview Survey of U.S. adults founds that only 4.7 percent reported regularly feeling depressed.
    The 2021 Wellness in Music Survey saw a decline in respondents experiencing moderate to severe levels of depression, with 20% reporting feeling this way. However, 56% of this year’s respondents reported feeling moderately high to very high levels of anxiety – and though that is down almost 10% from last year’s numbers, it indicates the mental health of the music community is still strained.

    “We live in a world built to connect us, but it can feel like it’s designed to divide us, distract us, and keep us disconnected. When we feel disconnected from the world, we are likely disconnected from the world within ourselves,” said Miles Adcox, Chairman and Proprietor of Onsite Workshops. “We hope attending Unplugged allows creatives to disconnect from all the noise and distractions of life so they can reconnect to themselves.”

Their first release featured Mark Biedermann, Les Claypool and Larry Lalonde of Primus and Mig Miner on the cult classic album The Sane Asylum.

    Blind Illusion has deep roots in the Bay Area thrash metal community, with ties to other classic thrash bands like Metallica, Heathen, Possessed and Exodus. Their music has been a cult favorite internationally for over 40 years and commenced as a worldwide touring act again in 2017.
