Car crashes into Gresham apartment Saturday morning

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A car crashed into an occupied Gresham apartment Saturday morning, authorities said.

According to the Gresham Police Department, officers responded to reports of the crash and arrived to find a Toyota Prius crashed into an apartment bedroom.

The driver claimed he was using his phone and eating while driving which led to the crash and officials said they showed signs of alcohol and drug impairment.

No one in the apartment was injured, but authorities said it could have been much worse.

The driver was arrested at the scene.
