ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The 29th annual Capital Region Buddy Walk happens this Sunday at Schenectady’s Central Park and NEWS10ABC is a long time, proud partner.

The walk is designed to recognize the accomplishments of people with Down Syndrome, while promoting greater inclusion and spreading awareness about the educational programs and services available to help people with DS reach their full potential.

The Buddy Walk is the signature fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center, a division of the Center for Disability Services. The money raised supports people with DS at every stage of life, and their families too. NEWS10ABC’s Christina Arangio will emcee the event once again and will participate on behalf of her son, supporting Team Luke with her family.

Janine Lampo, a parent whose child is helped through the Down Syndrome Aim High Center and Anne Costigan, the Senior Vice President of Communication and Development at the Center for Disability Services, joined us in the studio this morning to share why this walk means so much to so many.
