Cambridge police seek public assistance in sexual assault case

Cambridge police are looking for footage from the public that may help them solve an ongoing sexual assault investigation.

The reported assault occurred on May 17 in the Cambridgepark Drive area, according to the Cambridge Police Department.

Officers responded to the incident around 9:18 p.m. that Friday. The victim told them that the suspect was wearing a mask and wielding a knife. Detectives processed a crime scene in the restroom of a commercial building.

They are asking anyone who lives in the area to look through footage from 5 p.m. to midnight on May 17. This could include home surveillance, phones, and dashcams.

Cambridge police are working in conjunction with State Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. They ask that anyone with information contact the Criminal Investigations Unit anonymously through their tip line at 617-349-9151 or online at cambridgepolice.org/TIPS.
