The Buddhist Monks walking for peace will be in
the Triangle later this week.

On Sunday, the Monks were in Lexington giving a
Peace Sharing Talk and eating lunch at a local church.

Hundreds of people gathered to see the ongoing “Walk
for Peace,” WXII reported. Sunday marked the 85th day of their 2,300-mile journey.

They are walking to promote national healing,
unity and compassion.

“We have to play as a team, starting from
today,” said one of the monks to the crowd. “No more division, no
more separation.”

Their Walk for Peace began in Texas and is ending
in Washington DC.

The Lexington Cambodian Community Center
provided them with meals as they met with the public. The monks are
resting there overnight and will walk through other parts of the Triad on Monday and
Tuesday.
