brsk Full Fibre Broadband Review: Why I Switched

If you switch to brsk fiber broadband by clicking any of the links on this page, I will receive some benefits. However, this benefit has not influenced the views expressed in this review.

I switched my broadband from Virgin Media to brsk full fibre broadband in April 2025. I have had a great experience and decided to share it with you.

My Story with brsk Fibre Broadband

When I moved to my current accommodation in Didsbury, Manchester, in early 2024, Virgin Media was the only provider offering fibre broadband. So, I had no choice but to sign up with them.

Fortunately, when I signed up, Virgin Media offered me what they called a “promotional offer. The so-called “promotional” price was £32.87 monthly for a 362Mbps download speed.

Meanwhile, I had to sign an 18-month contract, and here is the caveat:

After 18 months, my monthly cost would increase to £60.87 (a £28.00 or 85.2% increase!)

As I mentioned earlier, I had no choice but to sign up, as there was no alternative. However, I had hoped that by the time I reached the end of the contract, another fibre broadband provider would have become available at my address.

So, you can imagine how excited I was when I checked around April 2025 and found out that brsk was not offering full fibre broadband at my address.

But that is not the end of the story. I had to wait out my Virgin Media contract because I did not want to pay the early termination fee to Virgin, but I had another surprise coming.

Sometime in early April 2025, a brsk salesman knocked at my door and made the easiest sale of his career.

Needless to say, I signed up!

I have been using brsk fibre broadband for two months and decided to share my experience with my UK readers. In the remaining sections of this review, I will explain the reasons I switched to brsk and why you may want to consider doing so.

Excellent Download and Upload Speed

Most home internet users may not be aware that broadband providers offer download and upload speeds. This is because providers only highlight the download speed.

This is because most home internet users rarely upload stuff to the internet. In essence, home users almost always download content, such as browsing a web page, watching a YouTube video, or streaming a Netflix show, from the internet.

If you’re wondering, your broadband’s download speed is how fast or slow your internet pages load.

Meanwhile, since most home users rarely upload anything, most providers offer very low upload speeds.

So, you can imagine my surprise when I saw that brsk offered the same download and upload speeds. This is particularly useful for work-from-home users who need to perform numerous uploads.

My brsk fiber broadband is 500 Mbps up and down. This means that I get 500 Mbps download and 500 Mbps upload speeds. The screenshot below shows my brsk broadband test speed.

Okay, the download speed is not up to 500 Mbps because I ran this test via Wi-Fi, which drops some speeds.

Affordable Monthly Cost

As you already know, my Virgin Media monthly broadband bill would have increased to £60.87, or by 85.2%! Meanwhile, since brsk offered me 500 Mbps at a monthly cost of £30, I saved £30.87!

The good news does not end there. brsk also promises not to increase the cost by the usual so-called “inflation-based” annual increase, which happens every April.

What this means is that by switching to brsk, not only did I get a faster broadband at a cheaper price, but my price is fixed for the duration of my contract!

Double-whopper!

Early Contract Break Buy-back

Earlier, I mentioned that I was waiting for my 18-month Virgin Media contract to expire before making the switch. However, I didn’t have to wait because brsk offered to offset my Virgin Media early disconnection fee.

What this means is that when I switched, brsk credited my account with the Virgin Media early disconnection fee. This was all a win for me!

These new guys in town are offering me better speed at a reduced cost, and they’re even willing to pay off my early disconnection fee. Switching was a no-brainer.

Moreover, the process was so seamless that I didn’t need to break a sweat. Once I initiated the switch to the new provider, Virgin Media sent me an email with the early disconnection fee.

Then, I forwarded the email to brsk, and a few hours later, my brsk account was credited with the same amount. I have included a screenshot of the Virgin Media email, the email I received from brsk confirming that my account has been credited, and my brsk account showing the amount below.

Once your brsk account has been credited, subsequent bills will be deducted from the credit until it is depleted. The screenshot below shows the credit balance in my account as of May 28th, 2025.

Excellent Home Wifi Coverage

As most home internet users may know, your Wi-Fi router allows you to access the internet from anywhere in your home. However, as a technology user and writer, I can tell you that not all broadband Wi-Fi routers are created equal.

For example, when I was using Virgin Media, I struggled to get a strong internet connection from other rooms in my flat, particularly those away from the living room where the Wi-Fi router was installed.

Based on my experience using brsk, I can confirm that the internet connection strength is excellent from all rooms. Additionally, we can stream and browse on multiple devices without it slowing down.

I must admit that the most likely reason for this is the 500 Mbps download speed. So, even when the Wi-Fi strength drops, you still get a more than good enough speed.

Easy Hands-off Switch

Another reason to consider switching is that you don’t need to take any action. brsk handles the entire switching for you.

In my case, all I needed to do was initiate the broadband transfer from brsk’s website. Then, forward the Virgin Media early disconnection fee to brsk, and they handled the entire switch.

£50 Amazon Voucher for Switching

In addition to all the goodies I have already discussed, brsk is offering a £50 Amazon voucher if you switch. I don’t believe you need any additional motivation to switch.

However, if you do, this should suffice: a free £50 Amazon voucher.

As a disclaimer, I must mention that I also get a free £50 Amazon voucher if you switch and your account is active for 30 days. For brsk’s terms and conditions for this promotion, see the brsk Promotions Terms & Conditions page.

Concludion

When I moved to my current accommodation in early 2024, I signed an 18-month contract with Virgin Media for fiber broadband. At the time, I paid £32.87 for a download speed of 362 Mbps.

Meanwhile, this was intended to increase to £60.87 after the initial 18-month contract. However, I switched to brsk fiber broadband for £30, offering a download speed of 500 Mbps.

In this review, I have provided a detailed, unbiased assessment of my experience with brsk fiber broadband. I hope that the information I provided helps you make an informed decision about switching.
