Breezy, warm before next storm Thursday around Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Gorgeous weather on Thursday will give way to wet conditions returning to Portland on Friday.
Enjoy the dry and sunny skies around Portland today. Sunshine and along with breezy easterly winds near 20-25 mph through the afternoon will push temps into the mid to upper 70s.
Clouds will start to increase overnight Thursday and eventually give way to rain showers Friday afternoon. Rain accumulation is expected to near 0.35″ by the end of the day Friday.
Cooler and wetter weather is also expected for the higher elevations of the Cascades Friday afternoon and evening. A light dusting of snow is possible above 6,500′ Friday. Mt. Hood will likely see a few snowflakes falling near its peak.

Warmer and drier conditions are expected to return for the weekend. Much of western Oregon and southwest Washington will experience a mild and dry first October weekend.
