Blue-Based Analogous Color Schemes – Farmside Landscape & Design

The color wheel contains primary (red, yellow, blue), secondary (orange, green, violet) and tertiary hues (blue-green, blue-violet, red-violet, red-orange, yellow-orange and yellow-green) colors. Plants in the tertiary hue realm can look different depending on which colors are in their immediate adjacency. For instance, a blue-green Hosta can look more blue when placed next to a green plant, and more green when placed by a blue plant. Blue-based analogous colors lend the landscape a lovely serene quality with their cool palettes:
