Bicyclists take over DuSable Lake Shore Drive on Sunday morning for annual Bike the Drive

CHICAGO — Thousands of bicyclists are taking over DuSable Lake Shore Drive on Sunday morning for Bike the Drive, the annual event that raises money for the Active Transportation Alliance.

Cyclists can enter DuSable LSD at one of five entry points up until 10:30 a.m., between Bryn Mawr Avenue on the north and the Museum of Science and Industry on the south. The entry points are at the main festival location in Grant Park, Bryn Mawr Ave., Fullerton Avenue, Oakwood Boulevard and the Museum of Science and Industry.

The entire route loop is 30 miles, but riders can make their trip as long or as short as they’d like.

At 10:45 a.m., riders will be guided off DuSable LSD onto the Lakefront Trail to return to the festival. Car traffic will resume on DuSable LSD at 11:30 a.m.

There is a registration fee of $78 for adults and $18 for children, and all riders must wear a helmet. Visit bikethedrive.org for more information.
