DENVER (KDVR) — If you have no hair or are willing to shave it all off, you have the opportunity to see a special advanced screening of one of the most anticipated movies of the year — all for free.
Focus Features partnered with Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake to host an advanced screening of “Bugonia,” which is exclusively being screened with people who have no hair.
If you want to take to your head with the clippers, that works, or if you want a professional touch, Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake has partnered with Golden Road Barbershop, which is offering complimentary head shaves from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30.
After the head shaving, the theater is only a short walk away.
Before you make the appearance-altering decision, it is best to check if there are any spots left, as the entry comes on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Being bald does not guarantee entry, so please arrive early!” said the theater in a Monday morning press release.
“Bugonia” is a movie directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, known for his ability to blend comedy into stark, dire situations. The Oscar-nominated director has amassed critical acclaim from all over the world for his work and is sure to raise the bar with his latest project.
IMDb summarized the movie as, “Two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.”
The connection with the bald theme is that the film centers around a bald-headed Emma Stone, who is working with Lanthimos for the fourth time, and has starred in movies, including:
- “The Favourite” (2018)
- “Poor Things” (2023)
- “Kinds of Kindness” (2024)
- “Bugonia” (2025)
Stone won the Oscar for Best Actress for “Poor Things” and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in “The Favourite.”
According to famed pop culture media outlet GQ, this collaboration is the “freakiest collaboration yet,” as the work between Stone and Lanthimos has certainly pushed the bounds of unorthodox creativity.
The film also stars the Oscar-nominated Jesse Plemons, who is working with Lanthimos a second time, following his role in “Kinds of Kindness.”
Those two actors are used to seeing themselves up on the big screen, but this exclusive screening will be filmed for promotional purposes, so your very own head could feature in the film’s marketing plans, but only the hairless version.
