Redwood City-based Electronic Arts reportedly is in talks to go private in a whopping $50 billion deal.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (KGO) — Redwood City-based Electronic Arts reportedly is in talks to go private in a whopping $50 billion deal.

The Wall Street Journal reports the video game maker is meeting with a number of investors and an announcement could come next week.

If it goes through, it would be the largest leveraged buyout of all time.

EA produces a number of widely popular titles, including the “Madden NFL” franchise, “The Sims” and “Star Wars” games, just to name a few.
