Armed robbery alert in Albany Park issued by CPD

CHICAGO (WGN) — Chicago police warned residents in Albany Park about a string of armed robberies.

On at least four occasions, all in September, police say an unknown man entered a store, went behind the counter, and removed money from the cash register, according to police. The man has also made off with stolen cigarettes and liquor as well.

If victims resisted, police said the man would threaten physical violence, stating he was armed with a gun and would shoot.

  • 3600 block of West Lawrence Ave. on Sept. 28 at 5:38 p.m. (Albany Park)
  • 3700 block of West Lawrence Ave. on Sept. 30 at 9:59 p.m. (Albany Park)

Police described the suspect as standing anywhere between 5’05”-5’09,” with weight of 130-170 pounds. The suspect is also described as having short hair and a dark complexion, according to police.
