Arlington police are investigating an exchange of gunfire between two groups on Friday evening, officials said.

Police responded to a report of shots fired near a business in the 4200 block of South Cooper Street, according to a statement.

Initial investigation found that two groups exchanged gunfire near the business, but did not identify any victims or anyone involved with the shooting, officials said.

The shooting did not occur on the property of the Parks Mall, and there is no ongoing threat to the public, police said.
