An Arlington pastor was arrested on Jan. 29 after a relative reported that he touched her inappropriately when she was a teenager in 2008, police said.
Troyce Hernandez, 50, faces an indecency with a child by sexual contact charge, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV.
Hernandez had been a pastor for True Grace Church in Arlington, according to the church’s social media post.
In June, a woman who is a relative of Hernandez told investigators that when she was 14-years-old, in the summer of 2008, Hernandez started touching her while watching a movie in an Irving apartment, according to the affidavit.
According to the woman Hernandez became erect while touching her back and stomach, then covered himself with a pillow, the affidavit read.
Hernandez, who confirmed he lived in Irving during the time of the alleged incident, told investigators that he “did not remember doing that but did not deny that it occurred,” detectives wrote in the affidavit.
Hernandez was booked into Dallas County Jail but as of Monday afternoon was not listed in jail logs, WFAA-TV reported.
